According to this, Hawiye comprise 25% (6 sub clans), Isaaq 22% (4 sub clans) and Daarood 20% (5 sub clans). And this is just in Somalia. So deriving the actual number to include those living abroad would be a tough task, when factoring in the disparate numbers of sub clans.

Its more or less around these figures, the figures are right and i don't believe Hawiye are that much giving way Samaale tribes who are not Hawiye lump themselves Hawiye, case in point Xawaadle, Sheekhaal and etc.
But the funny thing is Michael, the map they used was the same Map the last Somali dictator Mahamed Siayd Bare distributed to the rest of the world to give the impression that the Daroods are the majority of all Somalis.
Look at somaliland, almost 70% of the land was giving to the minor Daarood sub-clan the Dhulbahnate, the entire Western Somalia in Ethiopia was giving to the Ogaadeen a Daarood sub clan that failed to produce a single village with population more then 10,000.
Simple fact: the largest 4 somalia cities during the hay days of Somalia were:
1- Muqdisho the heart land of the Hawiye and Dir
2- Hargaysa 99% Isaaq
3- Burco 99% Isaaq
4- Kismaayo
and non of these 4 major city can be called a Daarood city by any imagination...
Daarood are a funny punch, only among Daarood 2 conflicting reality exists with in their scull, they love to propagate the fantasy that they are the majority of Somali tribes, but their largest village Garoowe has the population of Hargays's elementary School's students.

X.Playa, I've noticed that you Iidoor have a real specialty in one particular kind of lie.
Is it the one where they know they're lying, you know they're lying, and they know that you know they're lying, but they lie anyway...ku lahaa "Garoowe has the population of Hargays's elementary School's." I doubt this fool even know what his talking about, typical of Iidoor
Sxb, whether you like it or not the truth of the matter is Daarood rule 1/3 of Ethiopia (Ogadenia) and their also the majority in NFD, that’s just outside of Somalia.
Within Somalia there is no question that Daarood reign supreme; east, west, south north Daarood is their, but the regions they control and heavily populate are as follows:
1. Sool it consists of 4 Districts which are as followed
A- District of Laascaanod Dhulbahante
B- District of Taleex Dhulbahante
C- District of Xudun Dhulbahante
D- District of Caynaba mainly Dhulbahante but there is also some Habarjeclo residents
2. Bari it consists of 11 Districts which are as followed
A- District of Alula
B- District of Bargal
C- District of Bender Beyla
D- District of Bosasso
E- District of Qardho
F- District of Hafun
G- District of Iskushuban
H- District of Qandala
I- District of Rako
J- District of Ufeyn

3. Sanaag it consists of 5 Districts which are as followed
A- District of Badhan Warsangeli
B- District of Dhahar Warsangeli
C- District of Laasqoray Warsangeli
D- District of Ceerigaabo manily Warsangeli but there is also some Dhulbahante, Habarjeclo and Habar Yoonis residents
E- District of Ceel Af wayn Habarjeclo and Habar Yoonis
4. Nugaal it consists of 4 Districts which are as followed
A- District of Burtinle
B- District of Dangoroyo
C- District of Eyl
D- District of Garowe
5. Cayn (South East Togdheer)
6. Mudug it consists of 5 Districts which are as followed

Only 40% of Hargays's school childern go to school the rest of the 60% can't afford too...
Garoowe's population isn't even 50,000, Laas Caanood are less then 20,000, Laas Qori around 3,000. The entire Stat of Puntland is less then half a million. Only Isaaq in Hargaysa alone nuber around 1 million, where in Somalia can u find any Daaroods with that much number..??/
Oh i forgot Daarood are unseen ghosts , they are there but they don't live above the land, they live under earth like colonies of ants
with big creepy fat queen.
