I've seen enough to know that Gurpreet and Pooja aint Somali. And seeing as Toronto has one of the highest populations of BOTH Somali's AND East Indians outside their respective countries, if not all, I know that just going by the schnozz on Pooja that she's Hindi or Punjabi (and I can't see enough of her dress to tell. But it looks like a sari). Same with Gurpreet. As for the last girl, she IS pretty. But notice the pic's caption reads "Somali'S" not SomalI ? So why is it that everyone else in the pic is blatantly non Somali? Answer, because non of them are Somali.

Ever since, I was younger, wallaahi no lie, people thought I was Indian. I got even Oriental because of my eyes.
I've gotten everything from Brazilian to Indian. People always ask me what I am.
Have you noticed Indians dress a lot like Somalis and vise versa?

Alluring, I always get pissed off at people assuming am asian. Really, Somalis look a lot like many other Africans, you have to realise that Africans are the most diverse people there is in any continent and there is no single face that represents all Africans.

Yea, I am African I am happy to be that. But I dislike it when people say, all Africans look the same when in reality that isn't possible. But with West Africans and others, opposed to us North East Africans (Horn of Africa),we don't look like them.
I get asian a lot too, it makes me sick something. "Are you Indian?" This Indian kid asked me that once, I had my hair down. I am like "No,sweetie I am not" he has this shocked faced, I just laughed.

I know a LOT of people who aren't familiar with Somali's ask those dumb ass questions all the time. But i've yet to confuse an East or South Asian, or a Brazilian with a Somali. As i've said before, SOMEtimes it MAY get confusing between an Ethio and a Somali. But no one else. And as I have peeps in Malton (an East Indian enclave near the airport in Tornto. And I work in Brampton, or Brambladesh, as it's known
)i've seen a LOT of curry farts. Sorry, but I don't see the similarity. Personally, I see the differences between dirac and sari. But that's just me.

A white guy was the one who asked me if I was Brazilian. I didn't say people thought Somalis looked like that, and Brazilians come in different shades didn't you ever see the Snoop Dogg video (Beautiful?) looool.

Michael, IÂ’m telling the truth. He does look like him. Obviously that guy is a bit younger and a hint darker than him but he looks like him. IÂ’m not saying most Somalis look like that, but there are minority clans that have similar looks to that. I think it is a bit racist to call people Rajpaul.

Again, as I said. people who make such uninformed comments, or ask those questions, are OBVIOUSLY not hip to Somalia, and Somali's. Somali's have their own distinct look.

Brazilians are DEF varied in their look. It just doesn't resemble Somali is all. And the white dude just didn't know any better.

Those pictures are of Somali Issa and Somalilanders not Afars. I have never seen Afar, but the onese I have seen on pictures they look identical to Somalis.

Ceelgaabo Good point.
The thing is that somalis like to be associated with the beauty. I have heard so many times people calling none-somalis ( this got to be a somali) becuase of the looks. We like to be associated with ligh skinned people, and distance themselves the dark, and none good looking people.
Usually I guess it is some sort of inferiority complex that somalis suffer.
In my opinion, somalis are africans and black, and thus they should reflect themselves as blacks rather than fantasizing.
