gurey i know what you mean,i know though that there is a big difference between the Somali christians before the civil war. They were very accepting people and they rarely trash talked their fellow people. I remember a very nice gentleman in Utanga who people said a priest in Mogadishu and no one had a problem with him. His oldest son was a friend and he claimed to Muslim until one day he told me he actually was a christian but afraid other children would beat him up if he told them about that. I was suprised he told me about it but I kept my promise and during our short time in Utanga, Mombasa Kenya, I did not tell other Somali friends of his and mine about his believes.

The problem with new converts is that they badmouth our culture and Islam. They seemed to be extremely ashame of everything our people stand for and they resort to hate to spread their message. I highly doubt these new converts will find refuge in modern day Somalia if they keep using the tactics they are using these days.

There are many christians who are more righteous than many muslims..

Muslims..Who lie, fornicate, steal, rape and even kill(Somalia???)...not to metion the Qowm Lut that we have even in SNET...so what makes you say that christians are enemies or the only enemies of Islam???

Now a days the first and perhaps the worst enemies of Islam are some muslims themselves.

well said, The enemy amongst us is us. We kill each other, rape each other, steal from one another, divide each other, spy on each other, and do all kinds of terrible things to each other.

As a Somali and a Muslim I hardly think few Somalis who converted to another religion are my enemy. Quite frankly it is possible that some of the folks that were in the same mosque as me on Friday killed few innocent Somalis back home during the war.

My discussion into this issue, should not be taken as a threat to the Somali Christians. But rather as lesson that Somalis should learn about the way we are polarised in many ways. As none of us are in an Islamic society. We should surely be active in Dawah within the western societies that we have come to call home.
