Re: Will you ever consider ADOPTING?
I reason why I posted this topic is I'm in the process of opening an Orphanage house in Xamar and I wanted to see the possibily of them being adopting by people outside of Somalia, so that they can get better education and more importantly a FAMILY.
go through the hardship of raising a kid. And your genes are not being propagated. Why would i do that? that is a focked up scenario.
Not all kids are fortunate enough to have two parents, let alone one. So why deny them the chance to have a parent, a carer, just because they are not your kid biologically.
Im not saying you MUST, but at least keep it open as an option.

Ismahan,
Why not open up an orphanage in Gelinsor ? Or Galkacyo ? Why Xamar ?
I have adopted 4 orphan kids in Mudug. I pay for their education, healthcare & food.
If you want to contribute, send me a PM. Plenty of orphans from our people

If you convince yourself of that, you are a person not in touch with reality. Darood kids in America are falling victim to the traps of inner city life: drugs, crime, teen pregnancy etc.
So don't deny what is going on, and help out your kinsmen

before you open an orphanage in somalia for that purpose, ask a basic question, does somalia have an adoption treaty with any foreign country, the answer is no. you need the somali authorities to enter an agreement with the country you live in to adopt children from somalia. without an agreement between countries, forget adoption. add that knowledge to your p.hd thesis. was it political science or anthropology? my family adopted 4 children who are all married now and have their own families. they and their children are still a big part of our family.

The topic question was for my own curiosity. As for my orphanage house...that is what its going to be until I arrange for international adoption treaties with different countries, so we can go from there. I know adoption is not a simple process let alone if you are doing international adoption, but I am currenting studying the rules of different countries. BTW my phd is in Political Science...and this topic had nothing to do with my thesis research. Its good the your family gave those children the opportunity to have a family.
