It looks like Air power is the future of warfare as we have seen in the Kosovo war and the Iraq wars. How do you see Russia's defence capabilities in regards to airial warfare from NATO or US?

How about a proxy warfare between the two sides. Like each side show casing its current toys (non nuclear weapons). Assumptions.

When Russia abandoned communism it was the end of our conflict. While the Russian political psyche remains somewhat paranoid, the truth is Russia and the US have parralel interests. Like China, we need them and they need us.

No proxy war business either. Didn't the Russians pretty much pack up and exit quietly from Iran, while predicting doom and gloom about an American attack.

Right now the Russians have no vested interests outside the caucusus and the stans. Those are the only places the Russians are active with surrogates. They sell military hardware, but that is stictly buisiness.
