Its all about her family and the values she was raised in. This is very important. If you are a progressive Skinny, and you decide to marry a traditional Xalimo/Farax, you are in for trouble. You are better off with another progressive Skinny albeit from another rival qabiil. Seriously, how often will qabiil be a breaking point. For those who claim it causes tension they are masking other chronic issues under the surface.

The key to a successful marriage is NECESSITY. Both parties must see the marriage as being in their interest. IF you do, qabiil won't be an issue but something managed off the books. You can go to your qabiil''s events. You can fundraise discretely. AS long as you don't do it infront of the other spouse and don't do anything controversial you should be fine. My ex-wife would take a hike once my tol came to chat. She knew the deal and would go visit her friends or family.

I used to be of the opinion that as long as he's Muslim, it's cool with me, but, now i've changed my mind. I'd rather marry a reer waqooyi. It makes things easier.

Why can't I edit my posts wtf?! Anyway my ex was Ogaden. Alham I didnt end up with him. I would have ended up divorcing him cos of the dialect. Shoot me for this but the reer xamar dialect annoys the shit out of me. Say nooh and I will wanna strangle you. Reer Waqooyi dialect. Ahhh. How I love it.

I guess different perspective depending on ur region. the men from my lineage were encouraged to marry from different qabiils, they would even show off their shisheeye wife. Sometimes they were spoiled and treated better than wives from the tolka.
