Voltage,
^ So it's official neither the English nor the Arabic version of the book ascertain the theory that Ahmed Gurey was a Somali. In addition, the renouned historian Richard Pankhrust, whom you often mentioned in your posts NEVER claimed Ahmed Gurey was a Somali.

I definitely agree with the above statement. I was just trying to clear it on the Futuh front, since it is the greatest source of information about the wars witnessed firsthand by the author himself. It is important to continue unearthing new sources related to the Imaam or even the wider history of the region, it really is. And it saddens me that we cant at this moment afford to bring real anthropologists and archeologists onboard but I am hoping with time it should be possible. I really think there are great discoveries to be made in Somalia not only relating to our past but to that of all humanity as well. All sources should be used to reach a consensus not rely entirely on the Futah. Two man standing apart can have wide differing opinions about the same single instance.
Its really been interesting reading this topic, but this tribal approach will not get us anywhere. We have some really good researchers in here, why not ignore our tribal differences and start a circle that searches and stores historical information related to all of Somalia and not just their respective regions? Because that my friends will be awesome.

Advo, what Voltage suggested was based on theory. So unless he can bring us a direct quote from that book where the Imam is explicitly said to be Marehan, i will only agree with this notion and no further.
As for now, you can shut the f*ck up and stop spreading lies
.His clan is debatable, but the idea he is not Somali is not. Even the Ethiopian record has him as a Somali

I definitely agree sxb. In hindsight, you can be sure I am not particularly proud I contributed to the pervertization of good history that should be categorized under the Somali banner and nothing short of that.Rampage wrote:I definitely agree with the above statement. Your last paragraph is especially meaningful and I think you should definitely approach your fellow English countrymen Warsame101 to begin such a venture in this very forum.
