Did Chelsea finalize Mata deal? I am surprised Chelsea signed since he was linked with Arsenal all summer long. It does not look like Arsenal will sign any more players this transfer window. With all the youth in the team and the current injuries you would think Arsenal would be the first club to be in the market to sign players. Anyway Mata is probably overprice since he did not look impressive at all in the European U-21 tournament earlier this year.

Looks like Samir Nasri will be leaving Arsenal.

Arsenal can confirm that they have agreed terms for Samir Nasri to move to Manchester City.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who has spent three years with the Gunners, has been omitted from Arsenal's squad which flies to Udinese this afternoon and instead will travel north for a medical.

The move will be subject to Nasri passing a medical and formal registration processes

Nasri is second best transfer after Cesc this summer .

seems City is not only there to compete,, they will win EPL or CL this season.

I don't know, they're still young, they will certainly compete but I don't see them taking the EPL away from United, especially if the Sneijder deal goes thru. I can seem them in Semis of CL as well.

It is good that Eto'o is getting paid. He built a new hospital in his hometown Doula just several days ago.

who gives a toss, its not like he would have contributed more than the current midfielders..sandro, hudlestone modric van der vaart kranjar ...plus parker coming in... who is he causing sleepless nights??

hope stoke push for crouch and palacios ..giovani going to spain may just generate enough $$$ to squeeze a van der vaart out of the hat, a minute past the deadline hour..

* gary cahill or samba
* leandro damien

are the 2 only signings we need inorder for us to have a decent crack at the top 4..

The window closed. Lets have a look at the teams did.. :mrgreen:

United: Didn't improve their team much with the capture of only three players for almost 50 million pounds. Young is good but his inclusion means that either Valancia or Nani is not going to get that many games and he's not much of an improvement on each. Phil Jones will also have to compete with Rio, Evans, Smalling & Vidic. So, again, not much of an improvement there. The keeper is suspect.

Chelsea: Bought more strikers, another holding midfielder, Mata & Raul (these two are the only actual improvements). Overall, the capture of Mata & Raul makes them look good for a challange on the title. AVB aint no Jose, no title for him.

City: Bought EVERYONE but Mancini has "bitchy" tendencies and is bound to fall out with at least half of these players. Might do well in the CL but wont win the title.

Arsenal: "In Arsene We Trust", and so should they. The team has a system of playing and style that remains the same no matter who you put in the team (see the game against United where despite losing by eight goals they were still passing it around and making chances). They will challange for fourth place but REALLY need to sack the club doctor. :mrgreen:

Liverpool: When you walk, through a storm, hold your head up high and, don't, be afraid, of the dark...at the end of the storm, there is a golden sky and the sweet silver song of a lark..walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain..though your dreams be tossed and blown..WALK ON..WALK ON..WITH HOPE IN YOUR HEART AND YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE..YOUUUUUUU'LL NEEEEEEEE VER WAAAALLLLK ALOOOONEE... :mrgreen:

NB
Oh! I forgot about the Spuds. Err, they'll win some, they'll lose some and Harry will get the sack.
