razzberry,most part,hollywood stand on AA films are very limited.and the only ones to get good promotion/roles are known stars, such as Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson,Hailey Barry--I've seen this(Eve's Bayou) movie on cable before.The acting in the movie is really good.

I think Chappelle said something like Hollywood would always approach blacks with some perverted stuff to do do in order to continue to portray that stereotype.....I forgot what he said exactly.

But a lot of blacks play into that same thing calling their women hoes & bootycalls and sooner or later people will think that all AA women and men wanna do is have sex and get 3 baby favas and what not.

They say blacks run the entertainment industry, but they are just well-paid employees of the NFL, NBA, BMG, SONY Music, UNIVERSAL etc. And they pay a few blacks well to corrupt the many AAs.

Personally, I know a lot of converts to Islam that are African Americans and it has done a lot to reform them. People like Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali changed their environments and were Muslims as are many in Philly, Brooklyn, etc that I've seen.

I think Islam works wonders for the AA community

^^^I agree with you to some extent. I think this has more to do with the fact that the Muslim religion has always been more accepting of blacks then the Christian one.

Over all I believe that any religion is good for the AA community. Unfortunately many young brothers and sisters are not embracing it anymore. It’s hard to get by in this world if you don’t have faith in something.

Yeah I think even the strong Christian AAs are better off and try to have higher moral standards and it's the faithless AAs that most of the time fall victim to all of the vices.

But Christianity doesn't address things like alcohol, gambling, stuff like that whereas the line is clearly drawn in Islam. In Christianity, even sex before marriage is not even frowned upon much anymore.

These are foundational elements of Islam and cannot be negotiated.
