Re: Child Birth
Sheikh Koronoto
But is it Islamically correct to have a husband next to his birthing wife?
PS: Farting is a social taboo walaal. It is a big deal in the conservation of human's pursuit to remain proper & flawless. It is part of humanity to reject imperfection even though humans are generally not perfect. And besides there is different expectation for men and women in the subject of farting. Men are at some degree allowed to fart. Its called 'cute' sometimes, provided its not a stinking fart. But for women, the game walaal is different. We are supposed to be sexually pleasing and irrestitable. We are suppose to look beautiful and gorgeous at all times. Farting or to use the better political correct phrasing, 'passing gas' is totally out of etiquette order. I can even see alot of silent readers right now bewildered at my repitition of the word fart. We women are supposed to be 24/7 looking phat! loool

Re: Child Birth
Koronto, the relatives always come to the womans child birth, it's usually her female relatives to enter the room with her and is something they would prefer.
And not do they only fart due to the imense pressure, at occasions they release some stool.
Basra, i don't know anything other than Hj so there's your answer.
I played about with different girls from other tribes, from waqooyi Galbeed as far as to Muqdisho, never been further north and never been further south.

Re: Child Birth
Shankaroon, i dont respond to stupid questions.
Basra, you broke it down correctly and flawless. The thought of a woman passing wind is just not a nice thought. I wouldnt even like it if my wife passes wind in bed when asleep, she can do the silent ones but not the ones that make noise.

Re: Child Birth
Basra,
There's not a single evidence in any of the Islamic texts to my knowledge that says a man can not be with his wife during child birth. In fact, the Prophet (saw) encouraged kindness to women and to show affection & compassion to wives.
As for the passing gas issue, I don't see its relevance in this issue. Something greater is at stake here, passing wind would be the last thing on any woman's mind regardless of it being a "social taboo" or not.
Cali_Gaab,
Why should her female relatives be in the room and not you who got her pregnant? What kinda logic are you using here? What's so repulsive about seeing your wife giving birth?
How can you say with certainty that all women during delivery pass wind and even excrements? What about those that have a cesearan section done? Either case, I don't think its significant or even an issue if a poor woman who's struggling for her live farts a couple of times, I'd more concerned about her own safety & that of the child than anything else.

Re: Child Birth
The fact that giving birth can be almost painless now days thanks to modern meds I don't see why a man would not want to be there.

Sheikh Koronto
I disagree. Farting is essential & absolutly crucial in this matter. The womans etiquette & dignity has been brought in question here. Obviously Cali is more traumatized by the sound of his wife's loud fart than the birth labor experience, itself!!!! I am speaking strictly as a psychologist here. loool
The sanctimony of womanhood has been violated here. This topic is not about Cali's fear of being there in the birth room for his wife. Its the idea that the first time he did it, he heard the fart. He doesnt want the same experience again. This is Cali's fear of disliking his wife because he is not attracted to her anymore! looool
Cali---- so your wife is Hj?? I will not look at Hj's the same! .looooooool

Re: Child Birth
Koronto, i'm not saying that it is wrong for a man to be stood right beside her when she's giving birth.
However, the point i'm trying to make is that me personally i can not see myself being in that position where my presence is utterly useless to her as i wont be able to ease the pain or do anything to benefit her.
Not only is the process difficult for her but it will also be difficult for the man as he's standing there powerless, it's like when people got you tied up in your own home and are raping your wife, or any other family member slowly and then continue on torturing her by using all kinds of brutal measures.
There's not a man in the world who would want to witness that.
The same way i wouldnt want to witness the procedure if there isnt another option available, this doesnt mean that i wont be present in the hospital itself or wont think of what's actually going on.
The reason why i said there could be a female relative present if available is because it's an women issue and they most likely have experienced it before or will experience it someday. Women would be more comfortable around women.
I'm not talking about cesearan section.

Re: Child Birth
Basra, you have been rolling around Somalinet for 4 years now and have been called "fat" "Overweight" "Physically unbalanced" and all other forms of name calling around this issue.
You getting pregnant by anybody is quite unlikely, therefore this topic shouldn't be of any concern to you.

LOOOOOOL.
Cali_Gaab,
Your choice, sxb! You asked if I'd do it and I said Yes, what you do is your business. Btw, from what I heard, seeing it kinda makes a man appreciate his wife a little more and develop deep bonding with his newborn baby.
