You really need to check the most important painter of our times.. Takashi Murakami and his unique style.. the Superflat painting method is amazing to see in real life.

Militant,

Margritte's work is intense walahi and his life was exactly that. He witnessed his mother floating dead in the river halfnaked with her head covered by her evening gown. She committed suicide. Makes you see his painting of the depersonalised human subjects in his work in a darker light.

My favorite artist is Sahm. His work makes me feel as small as an ant. I love that, just imagining how it feels to be in those scenes. Frightening and magical.

M.C. Escher is a favorite too, I have a thick ass book about him and his work.

Takashi is popular, but definitely not important.

TL,

There's a whole cult that literally worships anything da Vinci and specially his Vitruvian drawing.

Cinque,

Never heard of Sahm, but now that I see his paintings, I can understand about the "small" bit. He's very intense.

Shit, I never even knew about much these things 'till recently because of my professor.

I always found it interesting how much professors affect us. I had this one professor years ago who was crazy about Calypso culture and specially some remote island called Carriacou near Martinique in the Carribean. He was an old hippie from California, got me all interested in Carrib-Afro culture and the whole Santeria thing down in Cuba. That's why I think Humanities is very important, not just the technical courses.

Are you done with school?

Nah, working on getting my Master of Science degree in Business Administration. Graduated when I was 21 and got me some relevant working experience before returning to the lecture halls.

Yeah once in a while you get lectures from a professor that really inspires you. Those are the only ones I can remember, those professors that just did their jobs and that's it, walahi for the life of me I can't remember them. Only the ones that were racist to me.
