Why don't Somalilanders join these celebrations.? Do they not go to avoid confrontation? Who knew that Landers were such peace loving people

Perhaps you don't remember, but prior to the civil war, June 26th was celebrated all across Southern Somalia just as symbolically as July 1st. Both dates were official and carried a significant meaning for Somalia as a whole. During June 26th celebrations, I don't recall ever seeing a Somaliland flag or anything remotely resembling secessionist ideologies. Furthermore, the British colonized many parts in Somalia that are today outside of Somaliland, and including regions that do not consider themselves to be part of Somaliland. Regions that still hold the blue flag close to their hearts. No one in their right mind would deny Notherners played an essential role in Somalia's unification, its a remarkable piece of history. However, to somehow pin Somalia's destruction on the South alone is juvenile. Somalia's unfortunate demise is a collective effort, perpetuated both by Southerners and Northerners.zulaika wrote:this is not a celebration......![]()

That is a CATEGORIC no !!!Somalia's unfortunate demise is a collective effort, perpetuated both by Southerners and Northerners.
All we did it just walk the fuck out !{for good reasons I might add}
PS: unless one is depicting as Northeners here the Ogaden , Warsangeli and dhulbahante subclans of the daarood conferederacy minions of the unholly Siyad Barre 's regime .

Sahan,
Still chasing the Daarood boogeyman, I see.
I think most clans in Somalia have some sort of responsibility in the country's anarchy. Be they Daarood, Hawiye or Isaaq. The only clans who anyone can say are innocent or victims are the minorities, its futile to play the victim otherwise. Having said this, I wish Somalilanders much success, no point in hating on what they've accomplished thus far. Isaaq or otherwise, we are all the same people and share the same religion. That in itself should be enough to make us all hospitable to one another.

Isaaq have done nothing to destroy somalia. We didn't even destroy the former regime, we simply liberated the land that was ours. Don't try and paint all of us like we are the same as you, because it ain't gonna work. You destroyed your country, fckin' deal with it
. We are not the same, maybe on paper, but that's where the similarity ends. We worship allah, you guys worship anarchy. We want peace, you dont. We speak somali, you speak what only allah knows. We have ciyaar somali, you shake your bum to a drum. Gtfoh with that sh!t
.

We'll continue to worship our anarchy, speak our "what only Allah knows" and shake our behinds to our drums. Adinka wax qabsada.
No more Daarood boogeyman to pin all your downfalls on. Now is your chance. Return to your lands and do something productive for your people.
Deal?
