Somalia is under UN Trusteeship. The UN decides when a paper govt is formed and they decide when its 'mandate' ends. To actually claim that they have any kind of power to decide the affairs of Somalia is laughable (except of course when it's to the detriment of Somali sovereignty e.g. selling of state assets or territory).

Parallels cannot be drawn with Eritrea or South Sudan who lobbied the world recognised govts they were once part of for succession, for there is no likewise govt in Mogadishu to lobby to. SL is arguably the strongest entity in what the world recognises as Somalia today, to say their fate lies in Villa defended by General Buhuku or the Garowe dustbowl is a joke.

The absolute truth is not one African leader or country decides what will happen in Africa. Once the west/ America wants SL to be recognised it will happen.
The TFG is the current government of Somalia and has power to decide about this, and no government in Somalia would ever consider recognising North Somalia.
Can you tell me of any country in the world whose govt receives its mandate to govern from a bunch of foreigners in some building in New York?

UN owns Somalia. Period.

Siad Barre's period was military dicatatorship, in a dictatorship your voice or opinion doesn't matter.
