The british and the northern clans were equals in trade and commerce and only stayed in Berbera and Hargeisa. actually when we Isaaq killed the First white man on Somali soil in the 1850s the British Empire wanted a peace deal with our Mullahs so that their ships could sail on the sea of the Isaaqs there was a a treaty signed in 1855. After that treaty another ship was attacked In seylac By the Ruler of that City Emir sharmarke , eventually the Brtish Signed a treaty with the Wersangali to go the warsangali land in laasqoray.. Speke went trough the warsangali land. The Brtish Empire had no real interest in Somaliland only the coast areas.. Again you show your lack of knowledge and ignorance. Where did I claim that they came to Somaliland for "resources" other than lifestock? I said they came because Isaaq were rich in lifestock and were already established traders and merchants and also Berbera was only a short stop away from aden where they stationed their troops ready for india. What coast did they is "establish themselves" all over. They didn't permeate the country because they knew the deal - only Hargeisa and Berbera.
