The khaarijites were known to make takfiir upon Muslims for Major sins- Shabaab have not made takfiir upon Ictisaam, although they think they have fallen into major issues. I would like to see that tape you are speaking out. Post it up. I bet you are distorting their words to fit your agenda

Al-shabaab fought the ethiopians- Another characteristic that you wont find in pure khaarijite groups. Khawaarij leave their damage for Muslims. You can rant on about them supposedly running away today, but history reflects another story. Furthemore, they are fighting Amisom, another non muslim entity.

You don't understand what khaarijism is, nor do you know the religious rulings on them at all. Perhaps you should google and discover.

btw, Ahmed Tahir Aweys made takfir on Abdullahi Yusuf for the exact same reasons Shababs made takfir on Shariff's government. The audio is widely available and the jadidis tried to refute him for this. Then he and Bashir Salad started calling( directly and indirectly) started calling shabab khawari for making takfir on Shariff. Unlike Jadidis, Sufis and Salafi Jihadis, Ictisami scholars change opinions on serious matters far too quickly. Look how some of them condemned Shariff for signing the tfg constitution, yet endorsed Ibrahim Dheere and his agreement with the Ethiopian regime.

As for this issue, Rovingmadness, you believe that religion and politics shouldn't mix, do you know what Islam has to say about this? Maybe you should ask Ahmed Dahir Aweys and see what he says?

I will try to find the audio for you soon, inshallah. It used to be on Radio Mogadishu website before the current update. Maybe HutuKing can find it?

The Ethiopian Invasion is a recent history and we are all famaliar with the way it was fought, so don't rewrite it for us. Shabab was a minor player in the struggle against the Ethiopians while the ICU whose troops were led by Sh Abdiqadir Ali Omar and the ICU Commander that left Canada who died in the Central Regions commanded the forces. besides, the Anti-Ethiopian struggle was multi-dimensional and different groups fought it under different capacity. Shabab is only famous for throwing mortar shells among civilian areas and never engaged the Ethiopians headon. Even today, for evey AMISOM trooper they kill, the massacare hundreds of Somali civilians. You can spin the facts in their favor, but that won't work with me.
