Agree. Thats why I always say when it comes to race relations the dhegcas are FAR more advanced than all those shitty backward central & eastern European countries. Even the Western Europeans only became "civilised" recently. They were lynching niggers and hanging them from trees not long ago. I say a lot of shit about Arabs, but one thing is for certain, I have never seen them go on racist rally or systematically kill people for having different skin colour to them in this day and age. For that, I respect them a lot actually.

There are a number of things one must consider when analyzing the issue of racism. It's the nature of the human being to be boastful about his lineage. We see everyday in this forum how certain tribes are called names, etc. So if this is what Somalians are doing to each other, what do you expect when you settle in other people's land.

Before the advent of Islam, the Arab tribes much like the Somali fought each other endlessly. They were insignificant when compared to the powers that surrounded them at the time, namely Persia and the Eastern Roman Empire. However, soon after the Prophet (saw) took control of most of Arabia, they showed zealousness and character as well as good conduct the likes of which have never been seen.

The reason why there are more Arabs today than Isrealis today is simply because the Arabs being muslims were more willing of accepting others as long as they had the same religion and hence places like N. Africa, and even as far as Afghanistan have large populations who Identify themselves as Arabs, but are really mixed. The proof of this is the number of Islamic Empires, strongmen, who were of non-arab origin but presided over their native lands without much attention to their ethnicity, or race.

Arab is not a racial group that is the silliest argument to make. The racial distinctions that mostly relate to Western history do not always take hold in the Arab world. Racial classification is different, race in itself is a social construction, so it means different things in different places. In the Arab world prestige was always tied to being an Arab culturally and politically. This isn't determined by race. There are many Arab figures and leader who were "black" racially but were Arab culturally and linguistically . The distinctions were always between Arab and nonArab. They looked down at all non Arabs uniformly. Even in the history of the slave trade with the Omanis many of the heads were for all intents and purposes what would be described as "black Africans", yet they were Arab and hence saw their non Arab targets as inferior. In Western history no slave, or African could assimilate into Western identity or society regardless of how well they spoke English or adopted Christianity because the classifications were explicitly racial. This was not the case in the Arab world at all where even children of slaves could rise into positions of prestige and leadership, once they assimilated into Arab language culture, etc. There is no parallel for this in the West. You can't understand race, and for that matter racism through uniform Western standards.

Much more accurate to understand Arab as a linguistic category above all. Tons of Arab countries have ancestry that isn't from the Arabian Peninsula( North Africans, Sudanese, even some Levant Arabs). Before it gets brought up I don't think Somalis qualify for either category( ancestry or language)
