The establishments are investing in sidewalks along the main trading streets. Multi storey buildings that will transform the skyline are popping up everywhere (at least 8 ~7 floor buildings under constr). More major roads are being paved. Tacky buulal and tents are being moved from blocking the main high-streets. Shops are implementing a new model for their fronts and layouts much similar to uk high streets. There is definately a noticable shift in the quality of Hargeisa as a city and especially in its commerce and hospitality. It will not be soon before it is really suitable for a [diapora] returnee to live in the comfort to which he/she ha become acustomed.Dhaga Bacayl wrote:Clean out these ugly tents in front of the nice buildings and you will have amazing side walks. Hargeisa is happening!!!!!!!!![]()
The same is happening in Burco. Berbera is also going trough major revamps and it was heaving with business when I was there (the place has a charm to it). Borama is also doing a lot of things with its roads.
