I remember when I was in secondary school me and my Somali friend were walking home ( I don't know what tribe she was) and we went passed this older Somali woman and my friend said Asalamu aleykum to her and the woman asked her what's your tribe as in what's your tribe before I return your salaams anyway me and my mate just looked at her and walked off convinced she was mentally retarded.


That was the first and last time I experienced tribalism from an older person.

I remember Year 6 , at the time i completely didn't know nothing about tribe, i knew my abtirsi but not what it meant, anyhow a pair of un-identical somali twins in my class , were angry at me after a long beef we had, i remember them saying "Your people speak too fast" now at 17 i knew it was about af-soomali dialects.

Somali infants is between 1- 19 years old.. This guy may be he is talking about his late stories between his father and another father.
