Re: Official 12-13 NBA Season Thread!
Theres definitely a lot teams that could use Andre, its just that Toronto raptors is a failed franchise.
Luckily for the Raptors faithful, Bargnani is a scoring machine! He’s currently averaging close to 22 PPG and everyone knows that number is going to go up slowly. He is the best offensive center in the league right now, and 22 PPG is a vast improvement from the 17.8 PPG in the 2009-2010 campaign.
Some centers consider him a threat when he is left open around the 3-point line. Most centers are not used to guarding other big men who can shoot the three. Bargnani has been taking less jump shots, has begun to drive in from the outside, and he's added a fade away shot to his post moves.
He has yet to improve his post game, but, when he does, we can easily see his PPG go up to 24 or 25. This will also give him a chance to grab some offensive rebounds, allowing for second chance opportunities.
Let us get this straight. Bargnani and rebounding don’t really go well together into a sentence. He averages a measly 5.1 rebounds per game in his career.
Matt Bonner plays for the San Antonio Spurs.

Like Screamin A. Smith said, this should be the best season in the last 25 years since there are about 10 teams that can win it all. Still, the prohibitive favourites in each conference have to be the Miami Heat and the L.A. Lakers.

Barghani needs a off season training by Hakeem Olajuwon. But sadly Hakeem's camp only accepts afro-Americanos. No whiteman allowed.
On a serious note, does anyone think the Raptors will even win 25 games?

Man I've hardly paid attention to free agency seeing these photos has me like
Forgot Odom and Hill went to the Clippers. Ariza with the Wizards and Maggette to the Pistons also surprised me although irrelevant.
Bynum looks depressed and like he hasn't got a shapeup in months. Seeing the Lakers full squad in picture made me realize the magnitude of their moves. Too bad Kobe will sabotage the whole thing

Wara Jaidi sup man?
Defensively I think We will pick up where we left off. Ronny Brewer for one is a legit rotation player for the team with the best record in the NBA in the Bulls, and we got him on the cheap. With Brewer, Shump we have all defenseive team defenders on the perimeter. Down low we have Chandler/Camby. Hopefully Amare/Felton can recapture their magic and I see no reason why not. Add to that Amare's new post game and this should be a great season. We got shooters (JR, Novac) Defenders, scorers and depth. I predict a top 2 seed and conference finals.
Btw, Landry Fields is GONE!

To be honest I've tuned out the offseason but seeing the pictures has got me excited. I forgot we signed Brewer that's a great pick up and great cover for Shump while he's gone. We are stacked man so much depth at every position. Not only can Felton run the P&R for Amare but so can Jason Kidd who still has a lot left in his tank. Don't forget that Kidd is also a great defender who can even guard the 2 because of his size. Our frontcourt might be the best in the NBA defensively. Sheed is about to sign too which will give us extra insurance and length in case of injury. We are definitely improved from last season and have no more scrubs left on the team. We flipped Jeffries, Jorts, Lin, Fields for Brewer, Kidd, Camby, Felton, and Sheed. Great business.

FAH,
You're just hating bro plain and simple. Forget about the age just look at production. Theres plenty of scrubs in the NBA who are in their '20s (ahem, wizards).
These are the players off our Bench who are old.
Jason Kidd: 6.2 ppg 5.5 assists in just 28 min
Marcus Camby: 3.8 ppg 8.8 RPG 1.4 bpg in just 22 min
These Guys are being asked to play spot minutes and in those minutes they should be very good. Quit hatin

Wheres Yungresh, Jaidi
My thoughts on my knicks this year
-Carmelo. It starts and ends with Him. He has finally at last committed Himself to defense and rebounding. He is defending like a role player, and going to the boards. He is playing more like Charles Barkley, instead of McGrady. He's simply bullying people on both ends of the floor.
-Raymond Felton is back. Is He gonna put up the same numbers He did under D'antoni? Heck no, no PG ever puts up the same numbers (Except Nash). However He is taking advantage of the oppritunies He's getting. He is setting the tone early flying into the lane and creating easy shots for everybody. More importantly He's knocking down His open '3s.
-Jason Kidd. Smartest player to ever play the game and possibly co-mvp with Melo. As a starting 2, He is defending. making open '3s at a insane clip, and being a extra PG on the floor by faciliating great ball movement. Starting Raymond/Kidd together was a brillaint move by Woodson.
Ronnie Brewer-Amazing defender who moves great without the ball. I noticed When Lebron drives and bumps His defender with Brewer He's not bouncing off of him like most defenders due to His strength. His midrange game is actually pretty decent but now He's hitting '3s. Amazing cutter to the basket.
Tyson Chandler-One of my fav knicks of all time, all heart. This year He has a lot of help down low. He's probably a top 5 pick and roll player in the league, as well as a great offensive rebounder. His defense, as always is spendid but again this year He doesn't have to do as much which is why He won't win DPOY.
Novac-Best shooter in the game. Doesn't bring much else but doesn't need to.
Rasheed Wallace-He wasn't expected to contribute until Feburary, but it looks like He's already making a contribution. He made 2 '3s last night, and showed He can still post with a pretty turnaround.
Pablo Prigioni-Probably my fav player on the team. Very feisty, gets under Your skin on defense. His handle is tight and He protects the ball. He's excellent in the pick and roll making decisions.
JR Smith-Finally playing under control and is even able to find people now off the drive and kick. He is back in His natural role now with 3 solid point guards as a finisher. His shooting is deadly, he's driving more to the basket and on the fastbreak look out.
Kurt Thomas-Probably 2nd smartest player after Kidd. He mixes it up underneath the bucket, hits the midrange and plays great post defense. He also sets great screens.
So far these 10 are contributing, and once Camby, Amare, Shumpert come back We will be a team thats 13 deep
For all the people who are saying we're 'too old' keep in mind that the core players (Felton, Carmelo, Chandler, JR, Amare, Shumpert, Brewer) are all 30 or younger and will still not average more than 35 min a night. The vets (Kidd, Camby, Rasheed, Kurt) are not playing more than 20 min a night. I know Shumpert will fit right in but if somehow Amare finds a way to play to His ability with this team, WATCH OUT
