I listened to the clip, everyone knows american agents are pain, if you are not a citizen of the country you going to expect hassle or two, heck i was held up in cairo airport for longer than that because the custom agent didn't believe i wasn't egyptian, they held me for 20 mintues and really believed i was Masri but with an oz passport, lol and no its not bribing they wanted the egyptian custom agent was sure i was egyptian and didn't want to be wrong, it was funny at the start but when i got bored i told him i need to speak to the embassy and he let me go, the canadian guy just jumped off in the first 5 seconds what do you expect was going to happen to him, let them ask all their questions and when you answer and they have nothing more to ask you then have the right to tell them let me go or detain me for a good reason.

that's weird, I found the US border agents to be better than the Canadian agents whenever we drive back from the States. I got pulled aside in my own hometown's airport on the way back from Somalia but I guess it kinda makes sense

Alpha why do you say that your life is over once your denied entry to a country? I can't enter the US but my life is perfectly fine.

I've based it on seeing criminal background checks that highlight it as an issue. I can only assume it will reflect negatively with employers, something akin to conviction. Maybe I overestimated it's importance? But glad it's working out well for you though.

Sure about that? I don't think employer-run criminal background checks can access where you've traveled or if u've been denied entry somewhere, they can't even access your former employer's HR records or your academic record; they can only ask generic questions:(date of employment, salary, title, etc).

At least that's what i thought.

Not the form I've just filled out

Police background check which explicitly asks to state any denial of entry.
