gurey--I am not saying that third world country don't have a rich history. They do, no doubt, but what I am talkin about is civilization in general. Like anything passed through generation, civilization is no different. It has to be perfected, it has to go through different centuries and different empires-- the romans, the Egyptians--or the Indians whatever---they went through civilization but are no longer civilized. But I think--western civilization is here to stay. Why? because unlike the dumb arabs who never pursued education, or hard work, or veered anywhere past their sun protected camping net--the western civilization perfected by the British aristocracy system, inherited from the Roman empire and later manifested through its offspring--- America-- is here to stay. How? By constant pursuit of education ,human right, enhancement of human knowledge. Most of all education , education, education. But education is not enough, there is no one more educated than the Africans, but u gotta have the individual exceptionilism of honor. Of gentle mannerism, compassion, bravery of personality and individualism. Brave enough to die for freedom of mankind-- not run to another country and claim refugee status. Like it or not.

one of the reasons for their current hight of power and wealth is that they deprived these very freedoms you speak about , from a large percentage of the worlds population through colonialism.
and they moved on to a more efficient system of financial colonialism.

Its their financial system that is at the root of their corruption, it has finally reached the ends of the returns of exploitation and as predicted have turned on the own countries that birthed them.
I laugh when austerity is threatened in Europe and soon in the US, the very same policies imposed by the IMF on third world countries , justice is served.
Their financial system is a virus and unthinking, it will consume its hosts and die in the process, only countries that have not fully integrated to the system I.e China, India and several south american countries will survive, everyone else will suffer. Countries that never believed in it in the first place but pretended to do so like the Japanese will also thrive.

You talk about science? without the Pentagons DARPA spending billion in research the US would have fallen behind by now in technology, Corporations have shown they cannot be trusted to keep advancing technology, it is cheaper for them to play the markets than spend it on research.
For the US spending 500 billion a year on defence is a life and death struggle, because as soon as it is cut drastically, the US will fall behind in technology, there are already critical areas of advanced technology where the US is 100% dependent on allied countries.
The same with Europe more or less, the only bright spot being CERN.
Another disease that is spreading from the US to Europe is the Patent craze, abuse of patent law is preventing technological progress, for every invention or improvement of an existing product you need an army of lawyers and millions of dollars.

The decay is too far spread and i would be surprised if both Europe and the US maintain current living standards by 2050.

gurey u r a slow typer aren't u? Anyway it is clear we are a total opposite of each other. U believe the west are devils and I believe not exactly 'angels', but the west are human savior, albeit with a human selfish motive. No doubt if the west don't take care of their fiscal issues-- their standards of living will decrease.(maybe sooner than 2050, u r generous good to know). But guess what---if the standard of America decrease, so does your so beloved china, india and brazil. U have to understand the world has become interwoven, global ecosystem is here to stay. That is arguable. One may present an arithmetic reality to your point of argument; what u view as 'superior' hygine of using water to wipe ....your.... delightful habar yonis behind....Samatryeey , "might" be considered by another a gross unhygienic act of friction. The fact that u have to touch your sewage canal with your bare hands, a few seconds as it is, --albeit using water as I grant u---that few seconds of feces contact might be perceived by an innocent bystander as a shocking lack of cleanliness consciousness waiting to be stopped by one Somali naadhiif activist---one sweet enlightened day.
