I certainly do not wnat to be your brother in that case
The only thing I experienced is watching videos of such things on-line and seeing it occur to other people with my own eyes.

YouTube is your friend.

You are entitled to your Arab beliefs. It's a free country.

Long Live Somalia :som:

 What is so special about this? A bunch of Somalis dancing to some Arab guy singing? That makes them Arab?

:dead: Alright I will join this Arab bandwagon too. I can speak the language and there's a bit of Banadiri blood flowing through my veins anyway...

SahanGalbeed, I have accepted I am Arab. Your work is complete. Somalis are Arabs :stylin:

If I needed something from an Arab I would tell him, come here my Carab brother. Let us rejoice, we are Arab brothers :blessed:

If someone was to ask me are Somalis Arabs and I had nothing to lose with my answer, I would say gtfoh :Puhlease:

Same reason we joined the Arab League, it suited us at the time. Mo Farah gets to be the 3rd most influential person in a region he probably doesn't give a crap about, no reason for him to complain, he gets something out of it. The Somali president was promised funding at the Arab League summit, some of our reps were probably laughing inside while being promised money.

In a nutshell, whatever the hell works for us is good. Its being Jewish, but it works :Heh:

Looks like you haven't been to any Arab cities lately

They have a special word for people like you: kalb aswad... and then they will force you on the floor and will hit you with their golden sandals
lol@golden sandals. ahahhaha I think Sahan has a point though, Somalia IS part of the Arab league. If we aren't Arab nation, then why the hell are we part of the Arab league.

Somalistan,

Siad Barre AUN got us in the organization. It's good that Somalia is apart of it. We can get some assistance from them. Having Arabic as an "official language" and being Muslim helped us get in the group. Also, geography. We are their neighbors.

The question we really need to ask ourselves is: Do you really regard yourself and identify yourself as an Arab? If so, then I guess you can be an Arab.

The only issue I have with Somalis calling themselves Arabs is that at the same time, you are calling Somalis a langaab people.

I certainly do not wnat to be your brother in that case
One thing I always hate about Somalis who insult Arabs is this. The level of inferiority complex they show is just sad. They probably at some point in their lives tried to become friends or become close to an Arab person and got rejected and called names. Seriously you can dislike Arabs (or any other group for that matter) for whatever reason you have but when you say you hate Arabs because they called you "Cabiid" or some sh!t like that then you are really showing how weak and pathetic you are. How can you allow anyone to call anything like that?

It reminds of a story of this Nigerian kid that lived in my dorm when I was in University who complained to me once that the white kids in school always called him nigger. He asked me if I had that problem and I said that I didn't and he could not believe it. Personally I really could not believe that sh!t was happening to him. How can you allow anyone to have the guts to call you a racial slur to your face? Later I found out the reason the kid got called names is because he wanted to become friends with the people who were calling him names and they did it because they really did want anything to do with him.

I don't even think it had anything to do with him being black or African but the kid was weak and pathetic and probably clingy. And because he wanted to be their friend so bad they knew they could get away with calling him anything that they desired.

 SMH. I am surprised you believed his comment that was clearly tongue-in-cheek and just for a quick laugh. So now I am speaking from personal experience when I say Somalis are not Arab?

It isn't an inferiority complex if I say Somalis are not Arabs. I am stating fact. In fact, the only ones who have an inferiority complex are those who truly believe Somalis are of Arab stock.

No where did I insult Arabs. I don't need to insult a whole group of people to make a point.

1) Somalis don't share Arab ancestry
2) Somalis don't speak Arabic (individuals do)

= You are not Arab. Worshipping the same God and a few loan words in the Somali language doesn't make you Arab. If you think you are Arab, you are denying yourself. The only reason why Somalis claim Arab is because they think lowly of themselves and their nation. End of story.

You don't see Persians claiming to be Arab. You don't see Kurds claiming to be Arabs and they are 100x closer to Arabs than Somalis. The only obvious explanation is that those who claim Arab feel that they are not up to their level

Stop getting defensive. I wasn't talking about you as an individual but in general about those who insult arabs and use the excuse that Arabs call them cabiid. No matter what anyone says, that sh!t screams of inferiority complex. As for Somalis not being Arabs, I actually agree with you so there is no need to explain that to me.

Excellent response.

To all those crying about alleged abuses: If somebody insults you or your ethnicity, do go home and lie on your bed in a fetal position and cry yourself to sleep. There was a time when Somalis were respected and feared, when the immediate response of a Somali to any slight to his honour was in blood. Sad that we have low self-esteem losers instead today.

LOL Leave it to Somalis to rationalize racism and blame the person at the receiving end of racism instead of the perpetrators. I guess it's good thing I never been to Arab nation lol. If Somalis had the same love for each other as they do for foreigners then our nation wouldn't be in the mess it's in. I can't wait for this thread to get more retarded, thank you all for the lulz.
