Since when were somaals ever united? forget the post-colonial pet project for a second and understand this concept of governance or nationhood is totally constructed and alien to our people and culture.Individual wrote:They are A disgrace to our Kind, instead of UNITING THE RACE OF SAMAALE theY want to BREAK IT INTO LITTLE PIECES AND FEED IT TO THE ETHIOPIANS!!
as ifsrsbsns wrote:National identity is a contemporary phenomenon which has been constructed over the past two centuries. We are somali people and most importantly muslim, saxiib. We don't need a national identity to define ourselves, Islam and our culture does that. No amount of flag waving or arbitary drawn borders is going to change that fact.
A common purpose? You think a political attempt at socially engineering us to pledge our loyalty to a flag is going to achieve anything. Pah! We don't need borders, we don't need flags (except the flag of Islam), we should embrace ourselves as brothers of the same cloth and simply BE as we have always been. Put your faith in Allah s.w.t and not the foreign agents who are force feeding you political frameworks which are alien to you.
But I'm being idealist I presume? We believe we have our fate in our own hands. Masters. Sovereign entities. No need for a god, because god doesn't have the power to help us - BUT! The Brits, Turks, Americans and Habesha do. (this is aimed at our politicians).
