This forum became the straw that broke the camels back. I was already questioning the term Somalinimo because my perception of that term and what it means to most Somalis is the complete opposite. In real life, Somalis are politically correct believe it or not. No one would dare to say what they really believe and the one's that do are labelled as lunatics or tribalists however its different on a forum.

Meyle, do you think Isaaq is any different? On the forum they are all kumbaya and Somaliland, but privately they are caku kii HabarJeclo ama habar Yonis, ama Habar awal etc. Whether you look at Somalia or Somaliland, they are the same people with the same dhaqan. Somaliland got a head start in it's stability, and insha'allah the rest of somalia shall follow the same path.

Lakin, don't take the distortion of reality that you see on Somalinet seriously. We will all move forward. Wa billahi tawfiq.

I think Gurey answered your question and what I feel about unity has nothing to do with Isaaq because the vast majority are not unionists. The attitude towards Somaliland or reer Waqooyi in general changed my views. Somalinet had nothing to do with it, I just renounced my previous beliefs here. Somalis in Somalia and the one's in NFD have the same dhaqan but that doesn't mean these people have to unite on the basis of dhaqan. Matter of fact Somalis in NFD are closer to Somalis from Somalia than Somalis from Somaliland. Thats just how it is. I wish Somalia and Somaliland success and prosperity as two equal countries.

Why shouldn't he be bitter? He's a unionist not because of moral obligation but simply because he believes in the unification of all Somalis. However while in Muqdisho he realized that reer Waqooyi as he put it, can't become the president of Somalia, some even telling him that reer Waqooyi are not fit for the job despite the fact that it was reer Waqooyi that took the initiative to unite Somaliland and Somalia, creating the republic in the first place. He realized what Isaaq realized 30 years ago, a couple of months after unification and unfortunately the attempt to regain independance in 1961 failed but we're on our way today.
