A Arab League official said recently that in the future, the world may just completely give up on Somalia and move on and it will not even be a priority. I think that might just be the case. It might just become a permanent garbage disposal plant, nuclear waste plant as well as a playground for the whole world.

I do not want to turn this into a qabil thread, but I think there was a initial victor which was USC who controlled the Capital. Back then Somalia was a City-State, Mogadishu before the War was 100x better built than anywhere in Somalia. The group that took Mogadishu in '91 probably could have done a major part in ending the war, but they only fueled it. Let me stop right here before I get accused of qabilism lol

Murax you are right in Somaliland the same plight a common history a close tribal association between all northerners and 32 years fighting for independence /recognition and fighting against south somalia and to be free of the south created some sort of common identity and closer kinships . Actually koonfurians rejecting Somaliland statehood helped allot the past 22 years it helped them stronger as people there is huge competition between SL and Somalia. Who is more superior who is the big brother of the horn. Some times i read twitter and is see battles between Somalia vs Somaliland its funny or youtube comments. But it works in a way what The self pride as people made them. also reconciliation helped the traditional culture in the north to listen to the elders.We used tribal politics as a cure , clan politics is toxic in the south and deadly , in hargeisa you can insult another clan on the radio on the street no one really cares we embraced clanism ma qarino it cured now there is no distrust between the people any more also there is conflict resolution culture in Somaliland and being real honest with each other where to go from here.

Now you're just splitting hairs, almost half of Somali language comes from arabic, hindi, or some other language. You know full well what I meant yet you change this into some linguistic debate.

I take it however you want but what I stated initially stands.Somalis have no concept of nationhood in their language and that's a fact.No term in Somali for a govenrment or a nation state,only peoples

Somalinimo does not equate with Somalia (an Italan term by the way) or
Somaliland (an English term)

I'm not disputing that there are less people who still believe in Somalinimo despite our brutal history; believe me, I know. If it makes you feel good, I too don't really see Somalis ever uniting cause the only thing Somalis are good at is killing each other and alienating each other by qabiil. Every clan marked their territory, hell we're still fighting over imaginary lines to this day lol. Despite all that why do I still believe in Somalinimo, I don't know, may be I'm just crazy to believe isolating and dividing ourselves by qabiil and hiding behind autonomous states is not the answer.

somalis remind me of the pagan era arabs pre-islamic times, they need tough islamic leader like axmed gurey to unite them.
