abdi.ismail start a initiative to bring light onto the stark endemic issue in Hargeisa instead of just refuting my rulings.
Now go on onto the fact finding mission i set out for you.
Good point red book. Khat usage has become desensitized in that region.....I just hate that it has come this far.

Idiots have hijacked my attempt to bring awareness of the plight of our people
Re: Meet Abdulahi! Who was chained for 17yrs by his own fami
It was very sad to see that Abdulahis parents at that age were still providing for him...i was genuinely happy the man had some reinforcements come to him and that selfess woman (forgot her name) who unchained him symbolised a new found freedom he so long sought. Beautiful.
However, i have this distaste in my mouth thinking if this was in Mogadishu, there would have been a bigger fuss and jeering at the situation in Mogadishu rather than adressing the case. Lets just say some people use these type of clips and perils as ammunition in their clan wars on the Net, making our reality so much uglier.

Just remember that once( god forbid) calamity visits upon you, such as madness or devastating illness that in our culture that the burden of your care will fall on your kids and wife or parents if u ain't got kids

Its part of being a family. One persons suffering is everyones suffering. Such a powerful nucleus our people have within families (it's what i love about Somalis). Now how awesome would it be if that notion was shared on a national scale? A person suffering in Garowe, or Goday, or Jamaame made you feel the same like he/she was your blood brother/sister?

But I think I misunderstood your statement when you said " i can't believe his arenas are taking care of him". So I was like maybe they are the closest next in Kim that are around.
You know we actually think the sameway bc our culture is beautiful when it comes to families. Have you not notice how there's this one terrible kid in the family, it could be a girl or a dude, who the city knows I has fall from the latter of life but yet that kids mother would go around trying minimize he/she's dire situation ..that's unconditional love

We are extremely loving people...i'm yet to see a Somali mother who treats her children despicably the way some White parents have done so to reach News headlines...
DoubleAppleNmint, perhaps, this is a wake up call for you...about those liberational bouts you got going on...you don't wanna cause distress to more Somali mothers now, do you?

My 30 something year old cousin is chained up all day too in his room. He goes on attempted rape sprees, runs around the market naked and rides street goats if he were allowed to roam free. He's been locked up nonstop since 2008. Funny story: One day I was laughing at something I remembered and he tells me "Are you crazy? Stop laughing alone". Ironic considering he spends half of his day laughing alone but it made me think: He can be easily treated and think he only has mild mental illness rather than psychosis, something I suspect the majority of mentally ill Somalis have. Truth be told, its the khat and the lack of affection Somalis don't show that is the cause. Somalis back home have to toughen up. There is not even a 'thank you' culture there. I think this is also the cause of some illnesses. Best friends in Somalia can't open up if they have problems. You have to keep it quiet. This isn't healthy. You will go crazy.

This reminds me my last time in Hargeisa..it was late evening an I was strolling downtown. If u have ever been to Hargeisa in the evening before Maghreb you will see the whole population roaming around. So in such an atmosphere I saw females causing mayhem by running around screaming. Apparently some dude took all his close off. The kid looked like he was in his 20s. Very dark and slim. Kid walked around the suuq nonchalantly while a lot of us stared. Funny thing was dudes had no reaction to him but when he came across girls them chicks pretended like they seen a ghost. It was bizarre man
