The latter have obviously been hanging on to their languages but as do the Bantus of the Jubba who still speak their original language. Barwaniins being a coastal Omani-Swahili-Persian people have for a long time still been connected to their origins whilst obviously some Bantus being more interior and having always occupied a more lower social status now speak only Somali for the most part.

Somali is a ethnic group at the social, genetic, cultural, linguistic and phenotypical level. We are the definition of an ethnic group mate and those minority groups aren't and will never be Somali.

If it weren't for Somalia being named "Somalia", this confusion would've never happened and we wouldn't ever be having this conversation in the first place.
