InaSamaale, if their father had been absent, for whatever reason, that would have been a different situation but the fact that he's not absent and under his watch they got preached & brainwashed (you don't just one day decide to go to a war zone area like Syria to be an ISIS bride, do you?) points to the fact that he somehow/partially failed his paternal duties, don't you think? It is not like they were abducted and forced into a plane, and as someone else mentioned in the thread, they didn't even have money with them and somehow their passports were renewed + had their tickets paid for. Image

PS: I don't know what Team Australia is (heard it on the news but never paid attention to it) but I, for one, am not team death cult, ISIS.

PPS: And by the way, I am not particularly accusing this father/family of failure but on Somalis in general, when it comes to these youngsters running to Syria and other abominable places. Image

how do you or i know that isnt what happened? all i have to go by is corporate media that this version of events is what happened...

cases like dr muhammad haneef and brother izhar ul haqq's case arouse an element of natural skepticism...

How can anyone brain wash a 20 year old? WTF. It doesn't even make sense. Hope they get what they went for.

Hmm! How do you or I know it didn't happen as well? lol

Look, I wish that it turns out a lie and that there was a mistake/cover-up/conspiracy and the community's reputation won't be dragged in the mud anymore but this is not the first time our youths did something like this, is it? There were multiple cases just in the last couple of months from Europe & North America and it seems this is a new trend, a copy cat thing.

For those of you who have young siblings/relatives that are weird/gooni u socod/awkward, just watch out for them. That's the best we can do in this situation, I think.

lol@ conspiracy.I love how that word is used so dismissively. I suggest you read up on Izhar Ul Haqq's case. Such gross violations of justice that pretty much set the foundations to introduce these new wave of anti-terror laws that are supposedly needed.

It isn't just our community who have folks flying from the west for Syria & Iraq. Oh and our community never had a 'outstanding' reputation to begin with, so don't lose sleep over some feign great image being tarnished by a few impressionable youth who granted i do believe are being brainwashed (by, but whom?) :)

i do agree with ur last part, very important to keep track of where the younger ones mindset & social media usage.

InaSamaaloy, I was referring to conspiracy as in against the community, since you highlighted the part where I mentioned "It is not like they were abducted and forced into a plane" and you asked how do we know that is not what happened. I meant to say it would be better if this whole thing turns out a lie.

And who's Izhar Ul Haqq, and what is his story?

By quoting another member's comment somewhere in the thread, why do we, Somalis, have to be up in arms to flock to Arab countries, when it comes to people going to war-torn countries, and not to other countries where Muslims are victims of atrocities and brutalities? Our country has been up in flames almost quarter a century so why don't they instead go there, maadaama sadaqada ugu muhiimsan ay tahay tan gurigaaga iyo naftaada ku baxda, according to Islam?

Somali parents should not be blamed for this. These girls are 20 and 18 years old, respectively and they should now common sense. I would understand people in Somalia being brainwashed/mislead by al-shabab because they don't have access to information but if you are living in the west and the computer is at your fingertips ignorance should not be an excuse. They should now that what they are doing is completely against the religion. :|

Have you seen this? Seems like what you're saying is true. It's another story about 2 Norwegian Somali girls and what happened to them. Their father went to Syria as well looking for them & here's what unfolded: http://justpaste.it/hlau
I hope those girls suffer in dunya and Akhira. I feel sorry for that father even more sorry for their mother. Waa lagu khasaaray walahi imagine when their parents came to norway they thought their children would get the best life free education, free healthcare wax walba. Only to end up in syria getting pimped to bearded freaks ahlu naar ah. Waxaasi allah iguma keeno but if it ever happened i swear to god mental ward aa lay dhigi lahaa.

It's what happens when you put low self-esteem, low prospects and an arab-worshipping culture all in one bag. What's it now, the 14th case? I see all the white-knights and the airheads have given up defending these dhillos.

It's like an international terrorist arrangement for call girls. The Hampton bachelor orders a girl from St Petesburg for the weekend. The ISIS psychopath requests a righteous sister for the duration of his purported Jihad.
