Oxidant, I don't know if you've been in one city/country your whole life, but more often than not, when you experience different customs, mentalities, environments, political and economic situations you have a better appreciation for your life as well as others'. One's tolerance of trivial matters skyrocket, thus making you less petty and argumentative. Most guys I met who didn't travel had a very limited outlook on ideas and a lot of their opinions were based on things they've never even seen or interacted with. They could be steadfast with ideas, but when push came to shove, they didn't really know how to apply them.
The three items I mentioned have (in my experience) given men a greatness that I admire and respect. Even if I don't always agree with the resulting opinions
