BV, adeerkiis
I am not the love doctor but I think what people (our folks in particular) call love is lust. It is a shorthand for affection. I don’t buy the notion that love is about intimacy. Love is craving/ longing/wants and to use your words physical attraction in the hope of quenching a desire (could be psychological, physical as well as biological.

I don't know that you can save a serial killer. There have been cases where the women themselves ended up getting killed by their "beloved"

I was just thinking about how a blessing of being older is being content with your own definition of things, especially when there are a million and one versions of something. What's important is how Lamagoodle defines and understands love not Farax and Jamac

When you meet your xusul baruur lady I hope it will be about more than her baruur

BV, adeer,to a middle aged somali man like me LOVE is an obsolete, rather abstract concept which only belong the annals of nostalgia. I think there is an element of being able to get whatever I want in how I view love. When you are middle aged, have a career and a a mature intellect, love takes a back seat. You view a word like it with suspicion; mind your pocket, she is not coming for your heart/brain but your wallet. Paranoia at worst and apathy at best.

Xusul baruur is actually a fetish of the middle aged somali man. I think it has to do with a sub-consciousness that a) the best thing in life at that age is the left-overs from the land of the dhuubto b) innate physiology of somalis women who have ; back home it was the poor who never became xusul baruur.

That's unfortunate

I don't know how you can get through life with that mentality. Yes there are users and messed up people but we're not talking about people but an individual who is worthy of you loving them and vice-versa

Would take being an intuitive idealist over your personality any day and twice on Sunday, no offence

Adeer, adeer, that is not what your esteemed uncle Lamagoodle thinks. That is the mentality of the middle aged man. I was just giving you insights into the mind of the middle aged somali man.

Uncle Lamagoodle is a modern man but he is also rationally bounded.

Many of the notions, ideas and utopia that we have as young ppl disappear when we grow older and when we can make our decision. That is my point adeer.

Adeer, suuqa hanaga xerin LOL

Yes, as you get older you become cynical; at my age if a woman says she loves me, I would think she is coming for my wallet and not my heart. That is what life's bounty can do to do; you have the intellect, financial capability and more importantly the experience to know that love can go sour.

Sug bal, exactly how capable are we talking

If it is this tedious, then waan ka xumahay/hambalyo the suuq will forever remain waasac

But still that is not the fault of jaceyl, gabdho adigo kale who are burdened by fortune wey jiran. There you go, that's the solution, I have solved all your problems, you can ride off into the sunset with your beautiful and wealthy, curvy, intellectual partner

Seriously though, everyone has standards. You don't love just anyone but that's not to say that there is no one worth loving

I must confess, silently I enjoyed reading the exchanges between the esteemed and clever Lamagoodle, and, the hopeless romantic but pathetic Black velvet. It was delicious, peculiar, yet faarta isku waas kinda discussion that need not be spoilt with my usual ubiquitous libral orgasms. :)

Walaahi-- I wasn't! I was genuinely intrigued by your exchanges. It was raw and amazingly poignant. U have Lama--who is 100% romantic---a lover of Somali poetry and songs, and even Hindi movies---yet seriously a disbeliever of Love. Then, we have YOU---my own dear BB. Big, Bellisciously Bellisima---who must fall in love every month and regalia us with details, of unsolicited rudeness---who passionately defends love. Huuno---I was obviously on the side of Lama, whom I called clever, and u I called pathetic. Sorry! Ignore the Faarta isku waasa---jargon, it was said in a heat of unfathomable elation!

I called u pathetic because u stand for LOVE. U defend LOVE so much that u rather call your self an 'intuitive idealist'! Pathetic.
