Re: Anyone with Saving Money Experience
Hagbad is too risky. In my town, the managing director of this hagbad/ayuuto has spent $70,000 USD and declared to the people who were members of that hagbad/ayuuto that she has spent it for an urgent issue and she will pay it back. After the other women waited for awhile and did not get their money back, they threatened to beat her up, so she can take the money as a dia. I know the guy who is married to that woman, and people are collecting qaaraan to pay off the debt now.
I advise the OP to open a saving account, put the money in there, and make sure you choose the option of not taking the money for a whole year. After you fulfill the one-year term, take your money, find out how much interest on it, and give the interest money to a mosque or needy people. You won't get an ajar from it, but also you did not collect a sin. Some sheikhs say no savings accounts, so check with your learned local Islamic scholar and see if it is permissible.
Another option is, if you have your mother or an older sibling nearby whom you can trust, use that person as a saving account.
As for Somalis backhome, use my tactic. I changed my phone number and never give them my new phone number. If they found out my number and ask me money, I tell them I don't have it. If they insist on asking me that money or persistently call me, I give them a final message that I will not be sending any money. I yell and scream at them. The only people I send money are widows. Rest of them, forget about them. If they still call me, I tell them I will send them a money but never do. The last tactic worked where they give up on me now. I adopted this tactic after sending money to them for over 17 years, but no respect from them. They don't appreciate it, and think the money is an entitlement. F'ck them!
Good luck!

Horta, is't normal for men to Join Hagbad or is't strictly for the women?
Re: Anyone with Saving Money Experience
Men joined it too; however, women love to deal with women, so if you're gonna participate, make sure you find a woman who is already in there and can act on your behalf. It is a good savings plan if the person managing it is trustworthy, and overwhelming majority of them are honest women.GAMES wrote:Horta, is't normal for men to Join Hagbad or is't strictly for the women?

You could ask a female relative to join a haggard on your behalf.
Personally, I would invest. Nothing complicated. Just buy items in bulk from sites like alibaba and list them on them on eBay, Amazon, Groupon. If you're very shrewd and experienced like me you can usually triple your investment every month.
Good luck with your plans for a second one
