The truth is that during the prophet's (SCW) time, things were not as they were today. Children worked from the time they were old enough to know what "work" means. They were treated as adults at a young age, not like these days where you see 25 yr olds acting like children. That is why Aisha could be married to Muhammad SCW at such a young age, because she was an adult already. Now adays, it is not the same. I personally would not let my daughter get married at 9 yrs old, but as long as she was mature and dveloped, and with her permission, I would let her get married at 14.

Actually, she got betrothed to him at 6 while still playing with dolls. The marriage was consummated when she was 9.

Back in the days of the Prophet, 9 year olds had the mentality and maturity of 20 year old.

Some will say 'But Aysha played with a doll'... So what?

That was the entertainment of young ladies in those days.

These days, a nine year old has not status in the household, even if she is the eldest. Times have changed, what was once, is no longer. These days a 9 year old is a child. In some places around the world, girls are taught from very young how to be good wives, mothers, homemakers etc etc. There was a story in the paper a few years ago about a 9 year Thai girl, who was married, and was about to give birth. She gave birth to a healthy baby, she didn't look like an abused child to me, in fact she was very happy. Her physical state was matured, not flat and boy-shaped. Not all 9 year olds reach puberty at that age. The 9 year olds I know are still small children.

Look at the non-Muslims- rife with STD's, unwed teen mothers, bastard children left and right, children who grow up without fathers. In an Islamic society, where eveyrone practised we wouldn't have such degenerate filth. And yet we see it in your gaalo 'civilised' countries. What a joke.

Aisha was betrothed at 6.... So what? To this very day, in India and such places, babies born are instantly betrothed.. No big deal made about that right? Only because we are Muslim, the chosen people, we are constantly harrassed, when our religion was the one who gave you friggin' idiots right in the first place. You would have still been burying your baby girls and inheriting your mothers had our religion not come to exist. Be grateful.
