Ghana Football Association officials have apologised after Hapoel Tel Aviv defender John Paintsil waved an Israeli flag to celebrate the World Cup win over the Czech Republic.


Spokesman Randy Abbey said Paintsil wanted to thank the people who had travelled to support him.


Abbey added: 'He is unaware of international politics. We apologise to anybody who was offended.

'We promise that it will never happen again.

'He did not act out of malice for the Arab people or in support of Israel. He was naive...we don't need to punish him.

'We are not in support or against Israel or the Arab nations. We are here to do football, we are not here to do politics.'

I am lost can someone explain to me why one of the Ghanese team member pulled out an Isreal flag. I forced to walk out of the room. I longer support Ghana And as I type I am even more vexed why does Somalinet net have Advertisements like 'send a flower to Isreal'.

This African was payed handsomly for waving the flag of another country instead of his own country, especially the flag of the Jewish state. The Ironic thing is that both time he waved the flags it as not him who scored the goal...and one goal especially was scored Ali Sulley Muntari who is muslim and probably took offense to this moron waving the flag of Zoinist state.
