Ismahan,
I watched the debate, and all the republican candidates agree on is that the war profiteering must continue, a quick pullout of Iraq would seriously inhibit the trillions of dollars that the war profiteers are raking in. More sacrifice is required, not theirs, of course, but sons and daughters of others, and thousands of Iraqi lives must continue....lives, limbs, indefinitely.
BTW, what do you think of Rep. Ron Paul....I thought he stood out like a silver dollar...he is against the war and has been from the beginning.
Obama's life has been threatened!

Re: Obama's life has been threatened!
He ran in 1988 on the Libertarian line and got four-tenths of 1 percent of the vote.
He is also an outspoken opponent of taxes, gun control legislation and government spending in general. I really like him, but realistically, he has no chance and not to mention he has difficulty raising money for his campaign because of his policies.
About thw Iraq war, I was reading about a major general from Britain who just got back from Iraq( I forget his name). The man suggested that the US and UK to pull out their troops and just admit they lose the war. In addition, he said the war was a mistake, since Iraq posed no threat to either countries' security.

The guy is of kenyan descent, he is an african immigrant n therefore i doubt that the african americans are supporting him, as for the whites they might be less sensitive to him becuz his ancestors werent slaves, anyhoo he is a good candidate, got a good charisma n i think he has a better chance with white voters than other black candidates

You know, not all candidates are electable, but having someone on the platform is a way to raise an issue, which is what Mr. Paul, Rep. Kusanich, and Sen. Joe Biden are doing in this campaign.
Raising awareness on certain issue can only happen such presidential debates. Therefore, having underdog candidate would help and can bring about a voice/opinion or issues others aren't able or willing to take on.

Jr,
I very much agree with you. These kind of candidates are good in those aspects, even thought they're really init to win. At the end, they might not win, but the issues they raise is benefical to the public audiance who are going to the polls. At the sametime, we get a sense of how the real competition candidates take on such raised issues.
