It's not hate. It's self-love. I love myself and my people. And I despise it when I hear Arabs claim that we're one of them. The same way I despise when West Africans or Southern Africans claiming that we are the same as them, that we fall under the same umbrella. Wallahi there are very real differences between Somalis and Zambians. Somalis and Liberians. We aren't the same as them genetically. We don't have a similar history. We don't have a similar culture. We don't even have a similar language.

So if a Somali rightfully gets enraged at an Arab misappropriating his heritage, why can't the Somali also be enraged at West Africans for doing the exact same thing?

I think its just as foolish to get mad at an Arab if they say we are one of them. You need to get over this. This issue is not that big a deal. If an Arab says we are one of them, just say thank you brother but i am a somali.

There is no reason to get offended and respond with anger and vitroi. It makes you look petty. And also makes it look like your scared of something.

I've gotten into confrontations with Arabs who claim that, "Somalis are dark-skinned Arabs". I've gotten into confrontations with Arabs especially when I was a hot-headed teenager, and I make no apologies that I'm a proud Somali. I'm not an Arab.

Wallahi I would punch an Arab square in the face if he tries to erase my Somaalinimo.

And I get just as enraged at a West African or some AA claiming that Somalis are "one of them"

I'm not a hypocrite. I stay consistent. It's nothing personal against these people, I just don't want them misappropriating my Somali identity. Just leave us alone and let Somalis be Somalis. Let Horn-Africans be Horn-Africans.

Somalis are simply native Horn Africans with some ancient ties to Nilotics and Egyptians & Levantines. Their closest genetic cousins are other Cushites (Oromo etc.), then Ethiosemities (Amhara etc.), and then Nilo-Hamites (Samburu etc). That's it. Deal with it.

There are two kinds of people in the world saaxib:

people who listen to what you say and recognize that each word has a specific role to play in making your point clear so there is no misunderstanding,

and

people who won’t/can’t understand your point because they’re too busy making assumptions to listen properly.

These guys fall in the latter group. The thing they don't understand is that we don't want to associate ourselves with ANYONE but Somali's. I am a proud Somali man who loves his nation and people with a burning passion and hope to see our nation return to its prosperous state and days of glory. To say I'm a Bantu would be like SPITTING on my forefathers who've fought tooth and nail for this great land. I am who my ancestors were. I am a Somali man. 100% Somali. My love and loyalty is to my Somali people first, and wallahi I would rather be killed than ever participate in the erasure of my Somali identity. We should be satisfied with who we are. The Horn of Africa has always been a distinct/unique part of the African continent, with a very different history and culture when compared to Central Africa, West Africa, or southeast Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, etc.) We can be friends with these Bantus. We can trade with them and form economic ties with them. But we aren't the same as them and we should be conscious of who we are.

We Somalis have had a turbulent history in the last few decades, and it's been a difficult time for our people. But we've been through these painful phases in the past. And inshaAllah we will emerge even better than we were before. Remember, Scotland was once an impoverished, illiterate shithole back in the early 1700's. 100 years later, Scotland became one of the most educated, and richest countries in the world. Somalia can achieve the same thing.
