I think that MaliPrince is probably a half Somali half Negro American and has been teased by pure Somalis in the past. This could explain his behavior observed on this forum (constantly linking Somalis with Negroids and his insecurity with Caucasoid looking Somalis).

Somalis have been in the west for almost 30 years now. Some of those early mixed bastards can be quite old by now.

Exactly abaayo! Africa IS the most diverse continent in the world and I have nothing but love for my African brothers and sisters. I would proudly stand with Africans against all other races but Somalia MUST come first.

Ethnic groups in Africa number in the thousands, each generally having its own language (or dialect of a language) and culture.

To categorise all these groups as the "same" would be retarded!

Black is a social construct FFS. So is African, it is a bloody continent of diverse people, not a race. Somalis do not all have a common paternal ancestor, some of us are closer to most other Horners whereas the jury is out on others including myself. Just because we all share genes because of centuries of mixing does not mean we all have the same ancestry. Eff nationalism, regionalism or belonging to some made up 'Black' identity.

That study had Somali Bantu and Benaadiri Swahili, Bajuuni etc samples taken from a refugee camp in Yemen. It even says so in the study that they had some Bantu samples. They carry some maternal lineages I have never seen on the +60 confirmed ethnic Somalis on 23andme (a genetics platform). Even though, with jareer samples they had collectively like 40% non-African M/N.

This study is more representative of ethnic Somali mtDNA, as they took in Copenhagen, Denmark with mainly ethnic Somalis:

you must be challenged when it comes to reading comprehension. the copenhagen study is basically the same as the one I cited. I don't think a 5% difference is much to write home about.

The majority (60.5 %) of the haplotypes were of sub-Saharan origin with L0a1d, L2a1h and L3f being the most frequently observed haplogroups. This is in sharp contrast to previous data reported from the Y-chromosome, where only about 5 % of the observed haplogroups were of sub-Saharan provenance.

This study says Somali mtDNA is still 60% haplogroup L. The other one had it at about 65%. Either way, the majority of our maternal ancestry is African.

Yes it is important when they acknowledge that they had Bantu samples included and blatantly Bantu lineages like L1c and L3e were documented. Those are *NOT* Somali lineages and I have never seen those on ethnic Somalis on 23andMe.

Notice nobody in the large Denmark study had those.

Hence, we can conclude that the Danish study is more truthful on Somali maternal ancestry.

Bantus are far and away the largest black african group though. That is why they are first on peoples minds. Also they have a large prescence outside of Africa (primarily in the Americas). You don't see that in the Cushitic speaking, Nilotic speaking, or Khosian speaking black african groups.

If Cushites were the predominant group in Africa, then people would associate blackness with us.
