I honestly do not want to get in an argument over; being that it is Ramadan. But I will say this verbatim.

Aweys and his cohorts are not a religious entity, but the worst form of life to risen in Somalia. The man was poor in Somalia, but now he is able to travel to anywhere? Where did he earn his money? 1.) Drugs (like many of his friends 2.) Stealing.

Using Islam as a shield can not work, nor will it ever. He is only loyal to his qabiil. And Allah (SWT) will never reward him.

America is playing both fields of the game. And supplying weaponry to Aweys and his freedom fighters (I use these words only for sarcasm).

Accusing another Muslim of being a drug dealer & a thief (yet lacking any evidence to support such claims) is indeed an un-Islamic thing to do. You are a supporter of A. Yusuf who is a criminal, you have no right to be pointing any finger at anyone else. When you stop supporting warlords because of clan affiliation, you will have more credit, until then, don't ruin your fasting.

What I say on this forum is based on truth, not on qabiilist propaganda. A.Yusuf does not use ISLAM as a strategy.

I agree with you these people here are clanists who are using religion as means to reach their clans' political interests. However, there are other misguided and brain-washed kids who hailed from puntland. These poor kids support some other clan's interest when these clans are the ones who displaced them, raped their moms and aunts, killed their dads , uncles and other kins. That is what is going on on this board.

However, Whahabia in general also is cronic mental disease that is widely spreading around Islamic world, specially poor countries. There is no position for Whahabia in AE, Qatar,Malaysia, and other rich and progressive Islamic countries.

And that is what worries me the most. I can't believe living in the past--7 century the time of the prophet and Sahaba. We are living in 21 century and we need 21 progressive Islam.

Umm...Islam is for all times and all mankind. There is no such thing as "progressive Islam"

There are Muslims who stick with tenets of Islam and function pretty well in this "modern world"

Because what you are implying is changing the Qur'an and Sunnah to fit "modern times" from this post

Speculation only garners absurdity. My age is none of your concern, nor should it be used as aspersion.

Furthermore, what does his brothers achievements have to do with the question at hand? My cousin is a Doctor, does that make me one? No. Using that to prove a point, is trivial. Aweys, is nothing but a long bearded qabillist and warlord. Using Islam as a shield to cause destruction.

No i didn't say let's change the Qoran. But What i am saying is let's change how we apply it in our daily life. Many of our environment changed and we need that our relgion reflect that. And I will give an exmaple. The prophet lived 23 as prophet, 13 years in Mecca and 10 years in Medina. In these 23 years Islam going through a lot of changes. For instance, in Mecca muslims were allowed to drink alcohol. In Medina they were forbidden to pray while they were drank. And then later Medina all alcohol were banned!.

My question to you is : Why Allah did not bann Alcohol from the begining?. What happened the Ayah that forbidens muslim to pray when they are drank?. basically that Ayah is null and void. My point here is Islam went through a lot of change and If the Phrophet(puh) were alive, things weren't the same. We would have been leaders rather than followers in every field. It looks like we froze our progressive thinking!.

In Islam there are 3 sources:

1) Qoran
2)Sunna
3)Ijtimaac al Culumaa

We can't change or modify Qoran and Sunna. However, we change its application by looking what is the interest of the Muslims in any given time and that is where 3)Ijtimaac al Culumaa comes in.

We need body of muslim schollar who know both secular world and religion who leads this Umah, rather than bunch of Whahabia zealoet runing our lives by applying rigid rules that can't be applied today's world or muslims confused and each doing what he/she thinks is the right thing.

That is what I am saying.
