I firmly believe that it is not the mans job to be on the delivery room with her, you do not have to be there to realise the troubles she's going through, you should know that before hand.

If i was a woman i couldn't imagine having my spouse see me in that condition.
The best thing for the female giving birth is have her female relative with her, mom, sister anybody.

Only if that isn't possible i'd be in the delivery room with my wife, but only if that aint possible.

Cali

You were there when you made the child happiely with pleasure..and you gonna be there for her when she deliver it wether you like it or not. :P

^^ Sorry to burst your bubble, but I must insist that you get a WIFE first before throwing around your weight in this Forum.

Anyways,

A random thing I want to say....I love the smell of NEW born babies! They have a distinct smell, that lingers on their body for a while. Most specifically on their head. :D

Wasalam to all

Helwaa

I thought I was the only one.....I'm so glad I found somebody as strange as me

Tell me about it........I'm always sniffing them, the smell is like no other (maybe you can smell a tinge of blood), maybe its the Smell of life :o Just when their born, given a shower, new clothes, and they smell so gooooooooooooooooood. I just want to hold them, sniff them, and kiss them. Literally in that order.

Salam
P.S. May Allah bless us all with healthy children inshallah ukhtii.

Helwaa that is a very shocking story! She actually called him up! Authobillah. Postnatal depression is very serious, and for that reason I love how Somalis always look after the mother, as soon as she gives birth. Cook and clean for her, take care of her, and keep her company. :somalia:

My Salam to both of you.

Subxanallah, it is actually a disease.. it is big in Australia now and apparently there is Prenatal and Postnatal depression. I heard this lady this morning in the radio that she actually could not look at her baby in the eyes and used to dream about hurting her daughter and herself. She got treated and now she has started up an organisation that helps women with Pre and Postnatal. The issue is actually identifying it and apparently women that have that don't realise it that it is there. Only now they are talking about it out in the open because they were feeling ashamed and thought it was their fault when it wasn't.. it is the disease.

I know few Somali women that have had that and went under medication for it. But Alxamdulillah they did not harm their kids.. waxa anaga na celinaayo is diinta... even if they wanted to, Iimaanka aa celinaayo. There is a dua that we say while we are pregnant, dua for child birth and dua while we are in umul. It's amazing what a simple dua can do.
