Its not even that. I grew up in one of America's worst educational districts, but it was my distance from Somalis (and distance from INFLUENCE) that got me through in life. If a Somali lives among anyone but Somalis, he'll do fine. I lived among African-Americans in the US my entire time here and that made me independent and aware of my surroundings. I think Somalis who live in my setting, ghetto yet away from other Somalis, do the best. Somalis who grow up among Whites forget their place in society - the White guy doesn't know about Somalis, but the Afro-American does - which puts us in our place.Amethyst wrote:Paid -- Cuz richer education systems are found in suburbia, and cleaner English spoken by the mostly Cadaan folks who live there. Somalis/immigrant groups corrupt one another and stick to slang and that only. One thing ive noticed tho is that growing up in the 90's as opposed to the 00's have been different for kids. More polluted sh!t thru the airwaves, and a weaker/materialistic pop culture.![]()
the somali bantu assimilation in the USA was flawless. you are a product of the reunification of similar genetic groups in inner city slums. You went from the ras kamboni jungles to the concrete jungles of america.paidmonk wrote:Its not even that. Maybe I'm a rare case. As much as my fucked-up environment has permanently mentally scarred me and tormented me since age 5, I feel complete in no other way because of it.
Does living among AA's make u pick up that 'Is it because i'm Black"- self-defense mode thing?" tho. Its usually either a motivator for success or a downfall mentality, because u always think the society is out to get u. lol.paidmonk wrote:Amethyst wrote: I lived among African-Americans in the US my entire time here and that made me independent and aware of my surroundings.

No, my point was that living among AA's makes you hate everyone and become the strongest person. For one, you'll hate Whites because of all the BS that AA's feed you. Then you'd hate AA's for giving you so much shit about your curly hair. And then you'd hate Somalis for not living near you and helping you in your battles.Amethyst wrote:Does living among AA's make u pick up that 'Is it because i'm Black"- self-defense mode thing?" tho.
