Marriage like everything else has rules & conditions:
1-Husband must be a Muslim who prays, because abandoning prayer leads to kufr & a Muslim woman can never marry a kaafir.
2-The girl's wali (guardian) must be present during nikaax, this can be her father/brother/uncles/cousins or if she has no one, then the Muslim ruler becomes her wali.
3-The girl must agree either by saying it out loud or keeping quiet, but not protesting it.
4-Both couples must be saalihaat (clean/chaste) individuals, not adulterers/fornicators.
5-A dowry must be set, it can be anything as long as it has value attached to it.
6-The bride must not be pregnant. A nikaax can not be done on a pregnant woman.

First: all this man knows about me is what school I went to, who my father/mother is and what I do for a living....okay he knows how I look like...but thats about it. What do I know about him? nothing.
Its creepy. Its distasteful. Its not honorable at all in my eyes.
It would make sense for him to alteast ask for my permission first and I HIGHLY doubt this guy is the 'religious' type.
