I can honestly say it has never occurred to me to even hold my dad/mom's hand when they were hitting me let alone fighting back It never entered my mind, it's a no go zone, like the thought alone would land me in hell.

If he stays and I'm clearly not in the mood for his dagaal and I've already warned him, what else am I supposed to do? Even then, I wouldn't fight him the same way I'd fight a stranger/someone I have beef with. Not really. You could just walk away. Two male egos wanting to get the upper hand, one has to stand down and since you're the son and he's the father I would have assummed it would always be you.
