Both were the works of Danny Ainge preying on the struggles of both the Super Sonics and Wolves. Sonics who spent almost an entire season without their superstar were given an offer they couldn't refuse. The Timberwolves planned to keep KG, I remember Glen Tylor saying that just a year before the trade but he also said he was willing to listen to other options. This is where Danny Ainge came in and the amount players that went the Wolves were just too much to refuse.. Danny Ainge manufactured The Celtics big 3 the same way Pat Riley manufactured the Heat's big 3.FAH1223 wrote:That was different. KG and Ray Allen were TRADED by Minnesota and Seattle. Bosh and LeBron SIGNED as Free Agents.

True, the MLE is almost guaranteed to be slashed or entirely removed, but if the Heat win a championship this year with the Big 3 + UD, Mike Miller (who are all locked up for the next 5-6 years) and a bunch of one-dimensional specialists, u don't think other NBA players are gonna take a pay cut to chase a ring? It's not really chasing a ring, cuz Pat Riley and Mickey Arison can pretty much book them for a championship and hand them their ring for signing on the dotted line. Nene from the Nuggets already said he's interested in coming to Miami, and him with the Big 3 can pretty much go 4 on 5 with the rest of the league and be in it every night. Glory hunters will be lining up to play with them, so there'll be no shortage of opportunities to ink quality players to deals.FAH1223 wrote:Mr. Yungnfresh wrote:It's not even fair sxb, u have three of the top 10 scorers in the league from last year and it doesn't even matter cuz they beat teams with their defense. They swarm the inside if you penetrate or try to play big, and their perimeter D is ridiculous since Lebron, D-wade and even Mario Chalmers are long and athletic enough to play help D in the middle, and if you try to kick the ball out on the double team to the open man, they're in his jersey before the ball even gets there. Their defense is suffocating enough to win them the championship...what's scary for the rest of the league is they're only gonna get better next year with a season under their belt to build that chemistry, upgrade at center and PG, and they'll have the confidence and swagger of a champion. That's enough to guarantee a dynasty for the next 4-5 years, and I don't even know if there's a team that can be put together under the new CBA that can even push them to a game 7 in the near future.
The Heat aren't getting a C or PG... the Mid Level Exception will be gone... MIA is capped out and they don't have any draft picks
Dallas is perfectly capable of winning this series, and I'm going out on a limb here... but they will break the Heat's winning streak at home tomorrow night with great shooting. They had good looks, but they just missed last night. Their offense goes side to side and they share the basketball well to get quality looks.
Dallas is the best offensive team Miami is facing this postseason and Dallas' bad shooting was just an off night, something Dallas hasn't had since the Portland series.
True, Dallas is the best offensive team they've played so far, but Miami is by far the best defensive team the Mavs have played. The game to steal was Game 1, where Miami played their worst game of the postseason yet still won. Their offense was decent and their defense can only get better from last game. You know the rule, defense wins championships, and the big D's D can't contain the Big 3. In fact, the top 3 defenses in the league were Miami, Boston and Chicago...and Miami already eliminated those other two each in 5, so what looks can Dallas show them defensively that they haven't already obliterated? Bring out the salami and cheese, it's a wrap for Dirk and them.

Dirk is the man. Next 3 in Dallas, this might be a sweep
Re: NBA Finals Thread: Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat
Mavs will take it just like I predicted it, it's over for the heats breh....the fire I was looking for was sparked today and there's no putting it out.
Latoya James, Christina bosh and Dwayne wade (I only respect him), take that fagg0ts.

Wow. I feel so bad...for the Mavs. To be so high today after their unlikely win, and then the feeling they'll feel after the Heat win the series, it's pre-tragic. Maskiins.

NBA Finals in the 2-3-2 format have been tied at 1-1 only 11 times. All 11 times, the winner of Game 3 won the series.Mr. Yungnfresh wrote:Wow. Game 3 is the game, we'll see if this carries over. I don't trust Dallas because Terry choked on Chalmers' 3 and was bailed out by Dirk just shytting on Chris Bosh with 3 secs left
Re: NBA Finals Thread: Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat
This is why I hate the Heat. They win on talent and zero heart. Whenever they're going good, they're jumping up and down celebrating like they won the championship. When they're going bad, they are really bad. Very emotional team. Right now they just handed the Mavs this game for free. I already Had the Mavs earning 1 or possibly 2 victories in this series. Remember its the first team to 4 so You do not wanna just hand a team a game and give them confidence cuz anything can happen. That Puerto Rican Midget Barrera could go crazy in Dallas along with Terry and even Peja might knock down some 3's. I still think Miami will probably take 2 out of 3 and close it out @ home but still they opened up the door just a little bit and gave this team a shot. Remember Kidd, Marion, Terry, Dirk, etc. never won a ring and they will play absolutely desperate. Infact the longer this series drags out if it goes to 6-7 games I actually lean towards the Mavs a little. Miami is best suited knocking this team out in 5 and if they won this game Dallas would have been deflated.
Now Dallas psycologically got a lot of confidence because they know they can play much, much better and STILL won the game and now they're going home Where they are bound to get better.

Re: NBA Finals Thread: Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat
Dallas played like complete shyt tonight, Jason Kidd looked like Westbrook making dumbass turnovers
But they made their shots in mid range which they were missing last game... and in Dallas, I think they hit more 3s..
If Dallas takes care of the ball, they will force the Heat in the half court... they gave the Heat like 10 fast break dunks tonight because of their turnovers.
The refs have also called this series surprisingly fair
