Not exactly offered but to paraphrase a famous saying lets just say the boss gave me the wink and the gun on many a occasion until affirmative action bite me on the proverbial assNabeela wrote:You keep saying she stole your job, was this job ever offered to you? was there any indication you might be getting that job...
No I have not heard of that saying. But I know this one: "There are 2 kinds of people, thos who come through the window and those that come through the door". So this "sister" jumped through the window and stole my job like a thief in the night.Nabeela wrote:I see, ever heard the saying "when a door closes, a window opens" your time will come, if you are good at what you do, just be patient and don't sabotage the sister, your time will come eventually.
Very comical. Fire the victim the man who carried the entire team on his back if I am fired which would make no sense so is relatively impossible I would make sure that she falls with me.HELWAA wrote:Can you tell us where you work so we can advice the sister to fire you?
I would be happy if i had a somali boss esp a somali sister.Say mabruuk to her and wish her good luck.Iyada calaf shaqadan ku lahayd, besides being a Boss it's a big headache.Dadka shacabka ka mid ahow.Richfarax wrote:Very comical. No most promotions and positions are available internally and they fill positions internally so I have the best chance by staying in my branch and organation as I have delevloped a good name here.GeoDesic wrote:RichFarax
Can you find job vacancies available for your position somewhere else? Nothing worse than showing up for work everyday whilst you are not excited about being bossed by someone you despise or don't like.
Being the boss is the best position headache or not. Did you just tell me to say mabruuk to her? For what getting a job she didn't deserve for something superficial for her looks and being a minority no thank you.HELWAA wrote:I would be happy if i had a somali boss esp a somali sister.Say mabruuk to her and wish her good luck.Iyada calaf shaqadan ku lahayd, besides being a Boss it's a big headache.Dadka shacabka ka mid ahow.Richfarax wrote:Very comical. Richfarax wrote:I was chasing a promotion at work for 3 months, I thought for this team leader role with all my might and passion. 2 weeks ago the boss calls me into the office and says we are getting someone from outside the branch for this position I was distraught. I was by far the best person for the position yet it wasn’t given to me but to an outside figure.
A meeting was arranged to meet the new boss of our team and shockingly it was a female around my age if not younger! And to boot a Somali. I’m not used to having a Somali female of the same age as my boss. It feels very unusual and strange and feels like a slap in the face.
Has this happened to anyone else before?
