It's one of those backward customs every society has, minorities are always neglected, in this case its the midgans, tribes like gadabursi, isaaq don't want to risk years of ancestry being wasted into a midgan but they forgot that in the aakhira your qabil will mean nothing.

like colonel said, the madhibaan boy should not have gone behind the back of the girls father. if her father rejected him out of qabiil, he should realise they werent exactly an ideal family to marry into in the first place. guurku waa khiyaar cidna laguma siro.

Their is nothing called a midgaan, its all primitive BS which i hope the younger somalis will reject it. How the fuck are they any different from any somali clan?

True but all the Major Somali tribes do not Marry from these people these are things we Somalida cannot explain.
But i think some of the fault also lies with in the Madhibaan Community they don't respect themselves if they were more confident, Somalis would respect them ,the tuni and bajun and bravanese are the smallest somali Tribes but yet not considered untouchables its because they earned their way up with self respect. This is an ancient custom the tumals the yibros the Muse dheriyo and all the other madhibaan communities do not marry from the adji.

It's most likely a pre-Islamic custom that was kept by the Somalis following their conversion to Islam and their adoption of Arab-like patriarchal clan system. It's not a coincidence that all of the clan patriarchs were somehow contemporaries.

Isaaqs would've been treated like Midgaan if they hadn't moved out of Maydh but they did and engaged in wars and conquered lands which they gained respect.Based wrote:It's most likely a pre-Islamic custom that was kept by the Somalis following their conversion to Islam and their adoption of Arab-like patriarchal clan system. Midgaans however are like Irish?, Gypsies?

He knew because of his tribal origin they would've rejected him any ways and i think he was badly in love with the girl so he married her behind the back and with out the blessing of her father, he knew they would never approved his marriage with her.

You and I aren't on the same wavelength bro.
I'm telling you Isaaq, Darood, Dir, Hawiye, etc. were all probably fictitious characters that local communities adopted with the advent of Islam. Many ethnic groups have ridiculous origin stories replete with mythic founders/ancestors, and I think the Somalis are no different.

whatever the case, that will not be a happy marriage sxb. one which has the parents blessing is always better. all this ''forbidden'' romance is overrated.The_Emperior5 wrote:abakar20 wrote:like colonel said, the madhibaan boy should not have gone behind the back of the girls father. if her father rejected him out of qabiil, he should realise they werent exactly an ideal family to marry into in the first place. guurku waa khiyaar cidna laguma siro.

Idk about you, but every single Isaaq subclan locates the tombs of their ancestor, even if they are as far as dhire dhaba, Isaaq is a not a ficitonal character, it isn't something to do with IQ but with facts, how are you going to explain the book written by his life recorder Muhammad Al Basri sealed in the historical library of damascus?Based wrote:You and I aren't on the same wavelength bro.

its because they are nice people, good people suffer the most in this world.AbuukarSubeer wrote:Isaaqs would've been treated like Midgaan if they hadn't moved out of Maydh but they did and engaged in wars and conquered lands which they gained respect.Based wrote:It's most likely a pre-Islamic custom that was kept by the Somalis following their conversion to Islam and their adoption of Arab-like patriarchal clan system. If they grouped together, and started raiding other clans, and killing other successfully and capturing livestock and territory nobody would have any problem marrying from them,
there wont be any stigma at all.
