i was there first and last time summer 2006. hated it so much. not something i would want to do it again.

waw, i hate it. where you went? i went to jigjiga and surounding. i liked harar. that's only place i would visit , but not any time soon.

I went to hargeisa, burco and berbera. How long were you there for? I hated it at first, everything made me ill

2 months , minus couple days. it's not about the land but about people. you can see theough their eyes the corruption. they all just plan to trick to get few $$s. even the young kids. dad bahalo omban arkay anigu koley.

Maybe you should try visiting some other Somali parts before you make up your mind, especially some capital cities

Left when I was 3 and haven't been back since. But to be honest, I don't really have much to go back to.

Never been. I might go in December/January for a few weeks if everything works out... my dad is there now... and he didn't go to Somalia for 30 YEARS (1981-2011).

I think it has more to do with the price of tickets. European Somalis are much more cultured than Somalis in North America. The diaspora in Europe cares much more about their country. You can see it mostly by just looking at who can speak Somali. Most Somalis (not including adults) in Europe can speak Somali while most Somalis (not including adults) in North America cant speak Somali. Somalis in America truly do not care. I've met late 20's year old from Virginia who couldn't speak a word of Somali and has no Somali culture. No interest with some Somalis in some regions of the world.

First ever in Somaliland 2000 then 2004, 2005 , 2012 and im still there i'll go every year if i could but i still think Djibouti is the place to be quartier 3 i misses you so much .
