God can be neither proven nor disproven. Evolution can be neither proven (although it's close) nor disproven. Why is it so hard for you to accept that there are multiple theories concerning existence and creation and that concepts other than the one you were brought up with are equally valid?

^^^The Prophet PBUH said: "He among you who witnesses an evil, let him change it with his hand, if he cannot do that, then by his tongue, if he cannot do even that, then with his heart, and this is the weakest faith." [Reported by Muslim].
What do you think i should do.? i can't stop you with my hands and i couldn't stop you with my tongue (which i tried BTW cuz you wouldn't listen) I have no choice but to stop You with my heart and disbelieve what ever you believe.
One massege to the somalinet fellas
3.28 Let not the believers take the disbelievers as Auliya (supporters, helpers, etc.) instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. And Allah warns you against Himself (His Punishment), and to Allah is the final return. Al-Imran [3:28]
becareful who you call sxb and friend becareful who you laugh with and chill with
60.1'' O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Quran, and Muhammad SAW)''. Al-Mumtahinah [60:1]

If the Islamic Ummah insists on seeing non-Muslims as "enemies" then they will be a lonely group indeed.

Indeed... but how ever the less we know them the less sins we commit the less we avoid them the more close we get to ALLAH. What more could one ask or wish for?

If that is all you wish for, then fine. But then stop asking for our pharmeceuticals, our food, our technology, while at the same time castigating us. Hypocracy at its worst.
Again, some of you are missing the point. The point is, that when it comes to general behavior, INDIVIDUALS should decide for themselves what is appropriate and what is not.
And no, the leader is not like a parent to a child. That is ridiculous. What makes you think some leader knows better than I what's right for me? There have been a shitload of bad leaders in this world, including a shitload of BAD MUSLIM leaders. Don't leave your fate in the hands of "leaders" or you will be sorry.
In short, in any decent society, each person can CHOOSE what they want to wear for clothing. Neither society nor God nor anyone else should choose for them.
general behaviou is social constructed, individual has no choice in it, you act how you was brought up to act.
Leader takes a simliar role as parnets, guide n protect..ect..
N about bad leaders same applies to parents, only you vote out a leader.
i agree you should choose what you wear, when given the choice...but as i said every choice is determined...all societies/countries have a dress code, for work, school, social
n this is Islam's....simple
quote="dhuusa_deer"]
woow thats a very vague view of freedom ‘communal’?? do you really think its freedom to conform to the crowd..?? I always thought that was a form of control (the most powerful)...but yeah i get you...althou that was rhetorical question...
freedom to me means the liberty to do as you please but such freedom doesn't really exist in the real world. If you do as you please, you're bound to step on the toes of others, then we lose our freedoms. It is in our interest to get along with others.
It is not conforming to the crowd but conforming laws and norms of the society you're presiding in. This is how 'laws' evolved. King Hammurabi, who wrote the first written set of laws, was forced to act cause it came more and more difficult to keep law and order since no one fully understood what the 'laws' were.
you'v proven my point...& thats not freedom thats obedience...how humanity operates..true freedom is only in our thoughts...

The issue is, and you guys are dancing around it, should the state mandate laws for conservative dress, or should individuals decide what level of dress is appropraite for them? I'll be honest with you, I find fat European guys running around in speedos at the beach revolting. But hey, if that's their thing...... I'm not going to start pushing for laws prohibiting speedos because I don't like them.
So if a woman wants to wear full hijab or whatever, MAC says, that's her buisiness. Let her wear it. But if she wants to wear a mini-skirt, well that's her buisiness too. If you want your right to wear hijab protected, you have to be prepared to protect forms of dress that you don't approve of. Approving of indivudal freedoms only when personally find them appealing isn't freedom at all.
