SNA soldiers do not fight, if they are forced to fight they will use the chaos of battle to escape.
Between battles they will sell their weapons and ammo to alshabab because their salary is regularly stolen by their own corrupt officers and officials of the " ministry of looting" aka Ministry of defense.
The remaining weapons are to be used in setting up illegal and unathorized isbaaro where they rob the civilians and rape women.
forcing civilians into further supporting alshabab and the next time alshabaab move through a nieghbourhood or village no one will snitch to the government because they might get robbed again if they approach the army.
My cousin just came back from xamar and alshabab is still active and are freely and confidently walking around like they own the place.
especially at night.
The day belongs to amison, the night belongs to alshabab.
This so called government is so ineffective it's laughable. Whatever Whatever presence this so called government has is artificial and take away forces whom have substance, this FG will melt away.
I think its a shame that Somalis are not being able to create 'actual' sovereignty with their own hands.

in one month he came across both alshabab and isbaro manned by army in uniform.
he found alshabab to be well behaved and non threatening, and he found the army at checkpoints to be animals in uniform.

my aunt was robbed by the army as well 2 weeks ago, ++++++

I think his views are shaped by pre existing notions & driven by ulterior motives. I have never come across or heard about Al Shabab manned isbaaro in Mogadishu nor did I ever pay money to any checkpoint. The problem is outsiders with political motivations are threatened by whatever progress that's happening in Mogadishu & see the need to present a different picture than the actual reality. That or they have lofty expectations & unnecessarily compare life in the West to the hard realities of Africa. The security in Mogadishu in my view is comparable & better than cities of its size.

Comments must stay on the topic, now what have these low IQ 4 pages got to do with the topic?

Its not right that some one thinks on, spends his energy and time on making some thing useful but always the stupid ones are turning it into a trash

Why somalis are the opposite? The world turns the waste into an energy

I remember once teamo making a thread with the title brain traning and she was saying how many snetters are slow, stupid, have lack of concentration and she gave them this link to better their brain status

Sahal,

You don't own the threads. Once you create it, it's for every member to comment & share their input regardless of whether it has anything to do with the topic or not. Stop the melodrama & calaacalka badan.

No. I own them. Is this your logic? no wonder why somalia is in a mess? If one has a problem with me let him make his own threads!

BTW I was going to post pics and maps but I stopped seeing how they hijacked the thread.

who said anything about alshabab manned isbaaro?
its the government troops that man isbaaro and they are the ones extorting people.
you must be a VIP or your neighborhood must be the beverly hills of xamar if you have never come across such things.
last week i went to my brothers wedding in burco, and my uncle and new wife from the hawiye side of the family came with me.
They were shocked that at SL checkpoints all they ask is your name and write down your plate number.
aparently for them a good day is when you give away a few dollars to those manning isbaaro after taking a little threatening .
an average day is when you are forced to fork over allot more.
another uncle was put into a container in the heat to make him more cooperative when he refused to pay up.
But he is a fast talker and knows the abtirsi of every Somali clan in detail, he guessed correctly the sub sub sub clan of the men manning the isbaaro and convinced them that he is one of them,
Passed all their questioning and got off with paying $20.

 kii sahal uu soo kululaanayaa ma is tidhaahdeen, kulahaa don't comment on my threats :snoop:
talow ma maqaaxidii uu rumours ka soo dhagaysan jiray baa la xidhay, waa maxay waxan oo frustration ahi?

about the muqdisho insecurity and alshabaab presence in the streets at nights is probably true. all the people coming back from muqdisho including indigenous Muqdishawians are not all lying and have something against the city. Meesha waxa la yidhi habeenkii gabalku kuugu dhaco hadaad iska seexan waydo baxar ayaad ku jirtaa!!

Gurey,

I really wanna know where these people drive to. There's no denying that there are checkpoints throughout the city & that sometimes the government troops get out of line & extort people but to say that this is the norm is highly exaggerated. Certainly, to suggest that Al Shabab owns the city at night is quite laughable. Minus the undercover agents that carry out periodical assassinations, Al Shabab does not have any visible presence in the city. Don't let the spectacular attacks designed for CNN fool you. Compared to other cities that are fighting the menace of Extremism such as Baghdad & Kabul, Mogadishu is certainly much safer & it's security system continues to grow from strength to strength. It's counter terrorism & intelligence gathering capabilities are more potent & effective than anyone could possibly imagine.

The untrained & uncultured militias will ultimately be reformed & restructured & there are already plans to do so. But to say that they are the norm or to cast generalized narrative on the rest of the security forces seeps with prejudice & negativity.
