You are right to some extent. The most successful somali females I've seen are those from Africa and the gulf. But I think this is more of a matter of somali parents having very little input in their children's lives than anything. Imagine if most somali parents were constantly helping their kids with homework,teaching them Qur'an at home, hiring tutors, taking the boys to football on the weekends or enrolling them in Sunday leagues/karate clubs, taking their daughters to ballet (or whatever little girls do in their spare time), keeping an eye on who their kids befriend (my parents still vet and keep an eye on me and my brother's friends and we're grown men in our twenties) etc.

It seemsweekend malcaamad/dugsi is being treated like a daycare centre by somali parents and they have very little to do with their kids lives, especially the fathers.

Kids hitting puberty is a hard time.They need attention and positive influence.Something that will make them feel useful and with purpose.If their family isnt the one to provide that,there will always be the devil waiting with more than that.It is sad.
