Re: Hypocritical Social Justice Warrior and Somali Culture Appropriation
Nomad, you're age is of the utmost importance.
Are you even compassionate enough to understand why many qurbo Xalimos hate on Faraxs? Because most Faraxs are man-childs, spoiled by their mothers and fathers and made to believe they're kings and their sisters their servants. They're brought up in an environment where boys are cherished, coddled and are allowed to roam free and their sisters are worked, chastised and caged. That is objective, non "self-hating" analysis of Somali gender roles and any man that denies it is a liar and a sinner.
Maybe you can adopt a message of equality and question unSomali Farax behavior on social media. You know? The ones who quote trap music, smoke weed, and fuck bitches. Or do you believe only Somali women are accountable to you because you're a Somali man and they're your wards. I see you brought some evidence on Ifrah, thanks. Bring me one thread you've posted on Somalinet disparaging the Faraxs I've just described. There are loads of them on Twitter, not once have you ever complained about them. I honestly can't remember you posting about them and I have an amazing memory.
Now ask yourself this, why are you so hard on our women? Why are Faraxs so hard on Xalimos? Could we Somali men possibly be chasing them away to Ajanabis, away from their dhaqan?

Soo butthurt, Look at you trying out change the course of the discussionSaciidAyanleh wrote:..
Now that ive proven the hypocrisy of Somali SJWs. you are trying to change the nature of the discussion by calling me a sexist

I never said i judged her for her actions. She can marry out, who cares, my problem is with SJWs and vast majority of them happen to be women or gay men!
Somali men who listen to rap, drink do not run around twitter painting a false narrative of somali culture. They don't have an agenda, hidden or apparent. They are just living their lives.
My Problem is not with the individuals life choices somalis make, but with the ideology ,False narrative and agenda these people spew. Its not about gender
About the Genderoles
the thing with these Somali feminists who you pass off as oppressed is they arguing that men and women are equal. . Both men and women are not Equal. Equally worth and derseving of no discrimination Yes!! but denying that there are biological innate differences between men and women.By destroying their innate gender role prefrences they make it seem like women are oppressed Men and women have always been a team. .A married couple with kids cant be a team when they are competing against eachother for the same postitions in society. They have convinced women that motherhood and marriage is evil as well. That the lie that men hate women. Man love woman. His first instinct is to nurture ("husband") and see her thrive. When a woman is happy, she is beautiful. Sure, some men are abusive. But the vast majority have supported and guided their families for millennium. There is no more fundamental yet delicate relationship in society than male and female. On it depends the family, the red blood cell of society.
So spare my your stupid Gender Wars and Xalimo Vs Farax crap

Re: Hypocritical Social Justice Warrior and Somali Culture Appropriation
The problem is that they are characterizing complete non issues like language, culture, gender, religion and patiarchy that they Disctract people from genuine somali issues. while people of different genders are trained to pick fights with each other, they are prevented from uniting for their common interests and to solve the problems of somalis world wide.
These people who you speak of want women to lose their womanhood at the expense of equating themselves to men. It destroys the fabric of most families. It's alien ideology, we already have tons of problem, not gender based conflict now. Supporting our sisters' rights and social justice is commendable, but American introduced feminism ideology undermines their rights.

I commend the brother, he's certainly made us aware of an issue that we were in the dark about. I never knew what a social justice warrior was, until this year. And I don't appreciate the digs they make on Somali culture either. I was just under the impression that they had little to no sway on the opinions and viewpoints of others. Perhaps, I was viewing it through my own perceptual filters and failed to realize that hordes of young people are on twitter and some of them are impressionable.metamorphosis wrote:Sophi sure she does but you have to at least acknowledge the brilliance of noblegeeljire here. He has a solid point and that is one can't escape and make all attempts to elude a "misogynist" culture and then have a boyfriend who wants to be part of the culture she hates. Absolute hypocrisy and the OP mentioned it is not about poking your nose where it doesn't belong the fact that there is a discussion to be had about the hypocrisy here. There is UNREALNESS on her part and we must bring it to the attention of the enchanted ones.Sophisticate wrote:Theguardian does have a point. I would rather look away then pay attention to hipsters with a garage band that swagger jacked Somalis. They can enjoy celebrating a commercialized pagan holiday that coincides with winter solstice, for all I care.Noblegeeljire You are doing a great job man!
You know what they say, never trust someone who is at war with themselves, they will likely do you in too.

Spend couple of hours in twitter, and you'll start understanding abbreviations and slangs used by different type of groups.

Re: Hypocritical Social Justice Warrior and Somali Culture Appropriation
I don't agree nor support every Somali social justice activist. I don't have twitter nor do I follow these girls. However, I checked out Mango's twitter and she seems like a very intelligent young woman. If only Somali women back in the days were as outspoken, articulate and intelligent as the young women of this generation, perhaps Somalia would've been in a different situation.
The Ifrah girl is a walking hypocrite. That's pretty much all I have to say about this.

Re: Hypocritical Social Justice Warrior and Somali Culture Appropriation
The mango chick is the main chick on Twitter who push this nonsense. She's another overly privileged Somali person who's caught up in this pro black shit. She drinks latte and sits in Starbucks all day blogging on her MacBook. I once saw pics of her participating in some dumb rally in Seattle (can't remember what it was about).
Somalis are known to be warriors. We don't play this victim shit. We never took shit from Arabs and we never will. Yet she keep pushing the narrative that Somalis are somehow under some sort of Arab Supremacy.
I'm still laughing at the term non black people of colour.
