Anyhow both my grandma's were like 14-15ish when they got married. Its normal in somalia.
My point exactly, And thanks for the correction, in Somali things like this is pretty much neutral. It’s not as taboo as it is in most regions.

he's just telling the truth. He's not naming names, he's probably not known by anybody on S'net and he's definetly not embarrasing her. he's just providing anecdotal evidence of what happens to a female who changes but has a haunting past. It's hopefully getting to a couple of the younger females and males who are tempted by the pleasures of the western world. IF anthing the brother is benefitting all of us without technically doing xan.
Wouldn't Xan in tell him physically naming names and physically describing her locations etc ?
Jazakallah unclebin. that was exactly my intention. this is a true story not something i pulled from the thin air to accuse a decent sister of what she ain't. nobody knows her. i did not mention names neither did i give out her whereabouts. it is a naration of a what i have seen unfold with my own very eyes. hopefully it will benefit those who heed.
Somali sis, waad mahadsantay walal.

One of my grandma's married my gramps who already had two boys and then divorced his first wife and then married my grandma.
My mother's mom married my other gramps who was like 4 yrs older and was like 18 at the time
In Somali age ain't nothing but a number. During the early 80s people in Somali influenced adolescents to get married, now a days you rarely witness any weddings including pre-adults.

For what is it worth let me say that many of the replied that are posted seems to misunderstand the true meaning of the question, or it could very much be me. The nature of marriage is by no means a simple deed; it is a union of two people in a quest to further humanity towards a better future. I am assuming that when the question is raised why do girls get married tender age, it means that why do young females marry a man much older then them. Several replies to this question took the root of the religion, and the prophet Mohamed (pbuh) personal life (marriage). Let me say all of the marriage that the prophet engaged in where not for his personal pleasure but for the absolute loyalty to further our religion Islam. Each woman played an important role, and as we all know the prophet (pbuh) repeatedly stressed the important ness of women and family in Islam. The reason why I mention this is; if it is that you are as man truly genuine about not committing unlawful sex (sin), then you should be a gentleman enough to know the difference between a women and a girl. Note, that is if he is noble and deeply care about his faith. Or as of a thinking man perhaps he should ask himself that if it so happen that he is no longer viable to his family would his 15 year old wife provide the necessary umbrella for his family. If it happen to be that you are lucky enough to reach a time when you modestly make a rational decision to get married, for both the husband and wife you must think beyond tomorrow. Build your house on pillars so your future children and theirs can forever feel secure.

^^Sista Somalisis what do u mean by SHawat?
Nice debate.
Sexual activeness is not the only factor why girls get marry at young age. I think they are not happy at home or not doing well in school and they just want to want to have a family of their own.
Kambuli I seen that too but the girls I seen that where married to odayaal as I prefer to call them tell me that their familes had given them to the odayaal Wallahi they live in unhappy life. Sometimes parents don't just understand. This is why Somali's female littercy rate is low girls missing out of their eduction
